BHS Career Center
BHS Career Center
Please encourage your child to check out the new BHS Career Center located in the front of the building across from the main office. Pam Butanowicz and Lynn Myatt are looking forward to helping students get prepared and gain the skills and the experience they need to succeed in the world of work. Some of the specific services available to students include: resume writing, interviewing skills practice, online job search and application assistance, career exploration, as well as help finding an internship or employment. Additional support services available to students who meet federal eligibility requirements.
Pam Butanowicz has independently developed the Career Connections Program, in several school systems over her 22 years of employment with Metro South/West Employment & Training Administration, Inc. Pam just completed an 8 year assignment with the city of Marlborough and the surrounding towns. Most recently, she played an integral part in developing a brand new Youth Career Center within Marlborough High School. Pam is an experienced and reliable professional with a proven ability to provide low income and at-risk students with job readiness skills through individual counseling, job readiness assessment, case management, and placement in internships/employment.
Lynn Myatt is a case manager for in-school youth at Bellingham High School and Keough Memorial Academy. She also works with those young adults who have moved beyond high school in the greater Franklin area. Lynn works closely with Tri-County Regional High School, Healthy Families, the Department of Children and Families and other community based organizations to help provide supportive resources. In addition to case managing, Lynn has developed the educational component for Career Connections over the past three years beyond what had previously existed. Providing one on one assessment and instruction for HiSET, TEAS, Accuplacer and many different trades’ tests.
Ski Club
BHS Ski Club Information and Sign-up forms are available in the BHS Main Office. Deadline for joining is this Tuesday, November 20, 2018.
Powder Puff Game
The Annual Powder Puff Football Game will take place on Tuesday, November 20th, 5:00 p.m at the Bellingham Football Field. Tickets are $5 for spectators at the gate. Proceeds to support OP Grad 2019.
BHS Chorus
BHS Chorus will be singing at the Town Common Lighting on Saturday, November 24th at 6:30 p.m. Community members are invited to our sing-a-long performance hosted by the Town Common Trustees. Santa will arrive by sleigh at the end of the sing-a-long!
Breakfast With Santa
Bellingham Friends of Music are hosting Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 1st at Bellingham Memorial School Cafeteria. All proceeds benefit the chorus, guard and band programs at BMS and BHS.
