Welcome Easton Lowe!

Congratulations to Hunter Lowe and his wife Lauren on the birth of their son Easton! He was 8 lbs, 7 oz., 24 HR, 86 RBI's. Both Easton and mom are doing well.

Lisa Byrum

Shout out to Lisa Byrum for finding resources for individual teachers and teams for lesson planning, teaching lessons in the classrooms, managing schedules, and always promoting positive energy throughout GPS.

Educator of Excellence!

Congratulations to Mrs. Michelle Creech for being named Camden County Schools' Exceptional Children's Educator of Excellence! Mrs. Creech will be recognized at the 68th Annual EC Conference in Greensboro, NC on Thursday, November 15, 2018.

Engaging Learning!

Shout out to Mrs. Wynkoop for leading her students in a weather scavenger hunt and Mrs. Chappell's class for their plot raps! The students loved these activities!

Camden Middle School

Medieval Music!

Shout out to CMS Music students who worked hard to research a Medieval instrument of their choice over the last 3 weeks. They were required to write a research paper and then build their instrument to be as visually accurate as possible.

Book Fair

Shout out to CMS for surpassing the school's goal of raising more than $1,200 at the book fair. The Fall Scholastic Book Fair kicked off at Camden Middle on October 15th through 19th, 2018 and earned more than a dozen new great books for our library.

Robotics!

Shout out to Mrs. Morrison for providing awesome opportunities for her students. Her 8th Grade Coding I students have received a generous donation of Cubelets, Vex Robots, and access to programming software.


National certification

CMS is proud to announce that Mrs. Christy Thomas, CMS School Counselor, received her National Certification as a counselor. Congratulations Mrs. Thomas!

Shout out to Ms. Drake for providing learning experiences outside of the classroom by leading the CMS Science Club!

What's Eating You?

Shout out to Mrs. Moss and her AP Environmental Science Class. As a part of their ecosystem relationships unit, AP Environmental student are dissected owl pellets to determine the owl’s latest meal (mouse, vole, shrew or bird).

Cultural Assimilation

Shout out to Mrs. Broyles and her AP Spanish students for their study of cultural assimilation. Recently the class was visited by an immigrant from Panamá, who recently moved to USA and discussed assimilation.

JLP

Shout out to the USCG JLP for their recent field trip to Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads located in Portsmouth, VA. The cadets were led by Deputy Battalion Commander Riley Pingree. The trip included tours of Law Enforcement Cutters, Aids to Navigation Cutters, Station Portsmouth, and response centers.
