Spring Sports 2019
Spring sports sign-ups took place during lunch over the last two weeks and physical packets were distributed to students during homeroom. To make sure all of our student-athletes are prepared for spring sports please note the following:
- The New Jersey Department of Education requires the Athletic Pre-Participation Physical Examination Form (APPE) be completed by all athletes participating on a school-sponsored inter-scholastic or intramural athletic team in grades 6 to 12. The APPE is good for 365 days (from the day of the actual physical) and is kept in the student’s health record.
- Parents can check on the parent portal to see if their student’s sports physical will be current. https://www.fridayparentportal.com/shamong.
Any student trying-out for a spring sport whose physical has expired, will expire before the season starts, or has never had one must submit a sports physical before try-outs. If the physical is not current the day of try-outs the student will not be allowed to participate. There are no exceptions!
Any questions regarding sports physicals please email Mrs. Cosper at hcosper@shamongschools.org
IMMS Athletics Booster Club 3 v 3 Basketball Tourney
The IMMS Athletics Booster Club 3 v 3 Basketball tournament will take place on March 29, 2019, in the IMMS Gymnasium. Forms will soon be available. Grades 3 - 8 are invited to participate.
Over the last seven years, the IMMS Athletics Booster Club has purchased uniforms for every middle school sport. In addition, most of the sports equipment and supplies used by our athletics program have been funded through Booster Club.

Lifelong habits begin at home. Make dental health part of your daily routine and share these reminders with your whole family:
- Brush your teeth at least twice a day.
- Floss every day.
- Limit the number of times you eat snacks, especially the sticky ones.
- Limit sugary drinks.
- Visit a dentist regularly for a routine check-up and a cleaning.
- Don’t forget to change your toothbrush regularly and especially after an illness.
