DRIVE Sumner Survey - July 29 & 30 PL
What if I missed DRIVE Sumner, PL days on July 29 and/or July 30?
K-12 Wit & Wisdom Collaborative Curriculum Study (Grade-Level Classroom Access)
The Google Classrooms will be the primary mode of virtual professional learning as it pertains to Wit & Wisdom curriculum implementation by providing weekly learning opportunities for specific grade levels of teachers and leaders in Sumner County. The focus of the ongoing professional learning setting will be to become more familiar with Wit & Wisdom curriculum design, instructional pedagogy, practices for best success, and collaborating with grade level teachers across the county. 2020-2021 PL at a Glance
All 30 hours of required Professional Learning for the 2020-2021 school year must be completed by April 15, 2021. Click here for more information.
SCS Revamps Online PL Opportunities
SCS has expanded how educators can earn up to 12 online, virtual PL hours. Because of the increase in availability of quality PL platforms, SCS educators can acquire PL both online and virtually. All online PL platforms must be pre-approved. Click here for a list of approved online PL platforms and more information.

A special series of classroom management practices for grades K-5 will be presented focusing on the following topics:

November 17 - Connect: "Am I loved?" "How do we connect?" - Emotional State Skills
December 10 - Create: "What can I Learn?" - Executive State Skills

Although graduate coursework cannot count as PL toward the required 30 district hours per TDOE guidelines, SCS has teamed up with several universities to offer professional growth opportunities for graduate degrees.

Content Day on July 30 Focused on Differentiated Instruction in the Hybrid/Virtual Setting
Twenty-five committees/teams with over 130 different educators facilitated, planned, coordinated, and supported our teachers' learning on July 30. The content day provided an opportunity for educators to collaborate with others across the district for their specific content, while layering in additional GSuite tools.
