Parking and Drop Off/Pick Up

Parking: Starting on September 12th, 2022, students will need a parking permit to park on school grounds during regular school hours. Juniors and Seniors can apply for a permit here.

Parking permits will open up for Sophomores later in the school year based on availability.

Visitor parking is available in the horseshoe loop in front of the school.

Drop off and pick up: Classes begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. Lots A and B are for student drop-off/pick-up. The front of the school is for bus drop-off only. Please do not drive or park in front of the school during school hours.

Attendance

Attendance is an important piece of student learning and experience at Essex High School. It's helpful that we know if students will be arriving late, being dismissed early, or absent from school.

Please call our attendance line (802) 879-5507 or fill out the attendance form on our website under the 'Report an Absence' icon letting us know of any changes in your student's attendance.

If your student is leaving early or coming in late-please have them stop in the main office for a blue slip. Blue slips allow the teacher to know the student has an excused and verified late arrival or early dismissal.

It is important that students arrive at school on time. School begins at 8:00 a.m. Students may enter the building starting at 7:30 a.m. Any student arriving late to school is expected to check in with the Student Attendance Specialist in the Main Office.
