Parents, Guardians, and Students


On behalf of the entire Manalapan-Englishtown Middle School staff, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the start of another great school year here at MEMS. We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure all of our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful, our children need support from both home and school. Our dedicated, caring, and experienced staff is eager to work with you to help your child grow academically and socially throughout the year.


The MEMS staff and I will continue to work hard to maintain our communities great traditions while striving to become even better as a school.

Parent Portal / Class Schedule

We anticipate the Parent Portal opening on the afternoon of Friday, August 19th. Please note, you will need to acknowledge all required forms prior to viewing your child/children’s schedules. Student communities will be included in the schedules. Additionally, the yearly Chromebook fee needs to be paid prior to accessing schedules. Bus passes will be available on the Parent Portal at the end of August.

Summer Math and Reading

Please make sure your child has completed their summer math and reading work before the first day of school. Summer assignments can be found here.

2022 7th Grade Orientation

Dear Parents/Guardians of Seventh Graders:


I would like to invite you to attend a special orientation for incoming seventh grade students and their parents. The orientation will be held on the following evenings:


Alpha Community Tuesday, August 30th 5:00 p.m.

Beta Community Tuesday, August 30th 6:30 p.m.

Delta Community Wednesday, August 31st 5:00 p.m.

Gamma Community Wednesday, August 31st 6:30 p.m.


Student communities will be listed on each child’s schedule when the Parent Portal opens. The orientation will be an opportunity for you to be officially welcomed to MEMS, to be introduced to our school program, and for your child to tour the building. The orientation will be held in two parts; there will be a presentation in the auditorium for parents and a student-guided tour for incoming students.

We ask all parents and students to meet in the MEMS Auditorium at their designated start time. The MEMS Booster Organization invites you to join them in the Main Lobby after the tours. They will have an assortment of spirit wear items on display and available for purchase.

Parent Drop off and Pick up

  • Doors for parent drop off will begin at 7:15. Please do not show up prior to this time, as it will create a backlog onto the road and may block bus arrival.

  • All parent drop off (7th and 8th) is at the same location.

  • All parent drop off will follow the arrows for 7th Grade and drop off students outside of the cafeteria.

  • 7th Grade parent pick up will be at the same location as drop off. Follow the traffic pattern. There are arrows painted in the road to indicate the traffic pattern.

  • 8th Grade pick up will enter through the center lane and follow the signs to the 8th Grade location.

  • If you have siblings in multiple grades, they are to go to the 8th Grade pick up location.

  • Both 7th and 8th Grade parent pick up will follow the posted signs to merge into one exit lane.

Other Important Information

Free and Reduced Price School Meals

Families must fill out the application for free or reduced price school meals to see if they qualify to receive the benefit. You only need to submit one application per household, even if your children attend more than one school in the district. The application must be filled out completely to certify your children for free or reduced price school meals. You will be notified of the result once it is processed.

An online application can be submitted by utilizing the Genesis Parent Portal (https://parents.mersnj.us) under the Forms tab.

Graduation Fee:

There is a $30 graduation fee for each student which includes the three tickets per student for their guests to attend graduation ceremonies at Brookdale Community College. Students who qualify for free and reduced lunch will have their fee waived. If you meet the eligibility requirements for free and reduced lunch, please ensure you have submitted your application before the start of the school year. We kindly ask that you submit payment for this fee by Tuesday, November 1, 2022 using Pay Schools.
