Weekly Update

Dear Paloma Families ~

As a reminder, there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, February 14th and Monday, February 17th. School resumes on Tuesday, February 18th. We hope that you enjoy a wonderful 4-day holiday weekend with your families.

The PBIS behavior standard for the Week of February 18th is 'Getting the Teacher's Attention' and we will be reviewing the Location Expectation for 'Arrival/Dismissal'. (See additional information below for details).

Registration Opening For TK/Kindergarten for the 2020/21 School Year

Online Registration opens for TK/Kindergarten on Monday, December 9, 2019. For additional details please visit: PES has been given the TK/K enrollment appointment date of 2/27. If you cannot make Paloma's appointed day of 2/27, you may go to the enrollment center anytime after 3/18/20 for an appointment to complete the TK/K registration process. All appointments are held at the Enrollment Center, not at the school site.

If you know of any families that have a TK/K aged student that plan to enroll them at Paloma for the 2020-2021 school year..please spread the word that TK/K REGISTRATION is taking place now. Thank you!

It is Yearbook ordering time!

Yearbooks can be ordered online beginning now through April 3, 2020. Visit to order your's today. Enter our school code: 980181 then click, "Go to your school account login." Annual Variety Show ~ See info below AND permission slip attached

Date: Thursday, March 5

3 shows during the school day

Evening: 6:00 pm

If you love performing and you have a special or unique talent, we want you to audition for our Show. You may sing, dance, create magic, throw a baton, play an instrument, do a comedy routine, or do something creative and fun.


There will ONLY be two audition dates. There will be no make-up auditions.

Every student who auditions will be invited to be in the show in some capacity. Due to time, some acts may be consolidated or adjusted. We want all Panthers to be able to participate! We want to put together a great show, which everyone will enjoy, therefore BRING ON THE TALENT!!!!!

Kinder - 2nd Grade Auditions

Date: Monday, Feb. 24th

Time: 3:30 pm

3rd - 5th Grade Auditions

Date: Tuesday, Feb. 25th

Time: 3:30 pm

M.C. Auditions (open to 5th graders only)

If you are interested in trying out to be an M.C., you must prepare a mock introduction. Example: Introduce and an act and make up a catchy way to announce it. ( Name of act, kid’s grade and names) Have fun with it! Try-outs will be held Thursday, Feb. 20th at 8:15 am in the MPR. MC Results will be posted Friday, Feb. 21st on the MPR window.

We do have a few requirements, which are MANDATORY in order for auditioned acts to be considered:

  1. Your final act can be no longer than 2 minutes. You will only audition a 30-second portion of your routine.

  2. If you are dancing, your final act is limited to 90 seconds. Wear your costume and remember that dance routines must be age-appropriate. Bring your music on a device with a headphone jack or email your music to Email us if you have any questions about music. If you make it into the show, we will need your music digitally or emailed. Apple Music is preferred. (Do not pay. We have a subscription.)

  3. Costumes and music must be appropriate for elementary school. Please check for language content and message before the auditions.

  4. Permission slips must be completed and brought to the audition (permission slip on back of attached flyer). Teachers will NOT be collecting these.

  5. If singing, you must have an accompanist or musical track. PLEASE- no lead vocals allowed on your music.

  6. Any audition that needs music must have it on the day of the audition or you cannot try out!

Rehearsals are MANDATORY regardless of scheduling conflicts with other extra-curricular activities. These requirements are essential in order for the variety show to be a success. We greatly appreciate your support and understanding!

Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS)

We continue this week implementing Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS). This week, our Location Expectation is for Arrival/Dismissal. Students will receive instruction on how to be Safe, Respectful, and Responsible in this location. Students will also be taught Behavior Standards. This week's behavior standard is Getting the Teacher's Attention. Classrooms will participate in lessons each day to teach the expectations. See the copy of the posters below for your reference.
