IN THE CLASSROOM
ELA - Has Cole made poor choices? If you were on the circle justice committee would you have given Cole a second chance? We will be finishing the novel Touching Spirit Bear, creating totem poles, and developing a final written essay that argues whether or not a person's choices determine their destiny.
Science - How does the Earth's layers create volcanoes and earthquakes? What type of rocks form our world and how are they created? Along with finishing up our solar system unit, students will be exploring what lies below our feet, and how it affects the many of the natural disasters of the world. We will be finishing up the quarter by exploring the impact students have on the Earth's layers and soil, and how the human footprint has so far affect them.
SS - How have the choices of Ancient Civilizations affected us today? Have they? Each Ancient civilization made a choice to settle near a river. Ask your students why! Throughout the next nine weeks we will adventure through Ancient Egypt, learn about the Ancient Hebrews and Israelites, and become Ancient Greek Warriors.
Spanish – Spanish classes are currently working on dates, days of the week, months of the year and seasons. Students are learning how to ask for and provide today’s date.
