This Week in 2D
Our Learning Journey
We are all set for an exciting week in second grade. In language arts, students are reading their biographies, (at home), an uplifting story called New Hope, and fun chapter books in their guided reading groups. We'll be studying different types of sentences in grammar: declarative, exclamatory, interrogative, and imperative. In math, students will review concepts of money and begin to explore decimals. Please see the note below about a needed item from home for an enriching math project. Money is a great way to begin talking about the more abstract concept of place value. This is always a popular time in science as we learn about and demonstrate the scientific method. On Monday, we'll learn about why and how we conduct research. This presentation, by Jennifer Hogenboom, helps them to see purpose behind and steps to conducting the Who Am I? project.
