Wilder Elementary School
Parent Newsletter - January 2020
Greetings Wilder Families!
Happy New Year! We quickly fall back into the routine of school, but are grateful for the break to re-energize for the second stretch of the school year! We hope our families had an enjoyable break as well. These next few months of winter are a time for some serious learning. We would like to see the temps remain above zero so that we can have recess outdoors. That time for movement and fresh air is so valuable! Thanks for sending warm outer layers, including hats and gloves, with your kids!
We are enjoying our Parents Lunch Days! Third Grade parents are invited to join their child for lunch on Thursday, January 23. Red Events are also important opportunities for our parents to visit. The next one is on Monday, January 13 at 2:30. Thanks for making these events a priority for your family.
Please be in touch with your child’s teacher if you have questions, concerns, or suggestions as the school year continues.
Best Wishes in the New Year!
Sincerely,
Leslie Wiegandt

Information from Wilder's Social Worker
Purposity
With cooler temperatures ahead, we have seen an increased need for winter weather gear for some of our students. Thanks to our social workers, these needs will be sent via text, posted on the Purposity website, and our community members will be able to assist with the few clicks of a button.
If you want to lend a hand to these students, visit https://www.purposity.com/users/sign_up and sign up for a Purposity account today. You will receive a text message once a week with a need for one of our students/their families. Once an item is purchased, it is sent directly to a school social worker, who distributes the item to the student/their family. It's just that easy.
