Student Drop-Off Reminders

During morning drop-off, students are dismissed from cars between the two stop signs. If a staff member on duty is holding up their stop sign, please remain stopped. Once the staff member closest to the school puts the sign down, the first car in line may pull away. Please remain in the car line and follow the car in front of you. This is for the safety of all of the children who are getting out of their cars in the morning, as well as our staff members on car duty. Thank you so much for helping us make sure all of our students get out of their cars and into the building safely!

MES PAW Patrollers!

This year, we are excited to start a new program at MES: PAW Patrollers. This program will begin on Monday, September 26th! A parent/guardian can sign up to be a PAW Patroller once per month from 11 am-2:30 pm. PAW Patrollers serve in various volunteer capacities to support our students! The PAW Patrollers schedule is below:

11:00-1:00: Volunteer in the cafeteria for all lunch shifts (PAW Patrollers are encouraged to have lunch with their child/children during their lunchtimes!)

1:00-2:30: Follow your child's schedule as a classroom volunteer. This may include attending specials/recess with your child!

If you want to learn more about signing up as a PAW Patroller, please contact Ms. Mitchell, our school counselor.

Attendance

If you need to contact the office regarding your child's attendance, please call the school at 540-289-3004 or email the school at mesattendance@rockingham.k12.va.us before 8:30 am. Please include the following information in your email:

1. Student Name

2. Teacher Name

3. Reason for Absence

4. The name of the person submitting the email

You can also use this email address to send Dr. notes!

Transportation Changes- Important!

Any same-day transportation changes during the school year must occur before 1:30pm. Please make sure these are taken care of through the office, rather than contacting the teacher, so that we can ensure your child gets home safely! Often, teachers do not have time to check messages and email during the day, so it is important that these changes are communicated to the office. The office will take care of making sure teachers know of the transportation changes.
