Principal Update

Happy Friday Cougar families,

The OPS staff is excited to welcome our Kindergarten and First graders back to campus on Monday, February 8th. We also have several preschool students who have been attending that will increase the number of days with us. This is exciting!! We hope you will watch the Orientation Video as a family to prepare.

We have had small groups of students and staff on campus since the end of September and all have done a great job of following our safety procedures. We believe as we bring larger groups back following these same procedures will allow us to ensure we are able to teach our students in person! Our time spent together will focus on core subjects of ELA and Math. Students will have their specialist meet and some skill practice during the opposite session.

Dates:

Preschool-1st Grades: February 8th

2nd-3rd Grades: February 22nd

Two of our biggest changes are the fact that families who bring students will need to say good-bye to students in the car or from the drop-off zone as only students will enter the screening areas. Please know we will have a large number of staff on hand to greet students and help them find their way to class!! We are a primary school and littles are our speciality!!

The other big change is that families will need to complete the health attestation/wellness check through Skyward every day prior to the student arriving. Students are not able to go to class without this. It is one of the MOST IMPORTANT things!!

If child attends AM complete by 8:00 am

If child attends PM complete by 12:00 pm

Directions for Health Attestation/Wellness Check are here.

Cougar Character Trait

The Character trait for the month of February is Kindness:

Kindness is defined as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. There are many different ways to practice kindness. Kindness can improve how our day to day life can be in the workplace, a school setting or even in our own community. Showing Kindness can be very rewarding giving it as it is receiving it.
