I believe that the work of our learning teams really impacted the work of teachers and students. Being transparent it what we are holding up as the standard (look fors) has helped to move our campus forward.

Reflection
My first year, and last year I met with each teacher in the beginning of the year, middle and end of the year. We set goals and talked about areas to strengthen. The process was good, but I am not sure it had the impact on instruction I had hoped. With the introduction of TTESS this year, I feel like all of the pieces of the puzzle have come together. The TTESS rubrics make it difficult for a teacher to "hide". The TTESS process has provided a great reboot of our conversations about teaching and learning. The rubrics are a great resource for teachers as they self-reflect on their lessons.

Reflection
At Lakeview, I have new teachers and teachers who have been here for 20 years. I am constantly adjusting my leadership/coaching style to meet the various needs of all of my teachers. Some conversations and some are difficult. However, I am always willing to have the difficult conversation because I know how significantly a teacher can impact their students.

We shared our new Mission and Vision with our parents and stakeholders. We did not get a lot of feedback, but next year I am looking at ways we can share more of who we are to better help our community understand our goals.
Our campus focus on Capturing Kids' Hearts is one way that we are putting what we believe into action. The skills students learn through Capturing Kids' Hearts helps them to be better members of the school and larger community. Classroom discipline is lower than in past years and we are seeing less of our "frequent flyers". Morning meetings, the social contract, and 4 questions have been great tools for intercepting behavior before it occurs. Our students know we love them and in return they feel safe to be themselves.
