Fall 2018
Fall in the Tam District
We are off to a great year here in the Tam District. We have had strong attendance at our back to school events at each site which has developed positive energy in the District.
There are two stakeholder committees engaged in important work this fall.
The Fiscal Advisory and LCAP committees are advisory bodies that will provide input to the Superintendent regarding budgetary decisions and LCAP goals and action steps. The committees will make decisions on what recommendations to bring to the Superintendent for consideration. They are representative bodies that will provide the district with multiple perspectives on how resources should be allocated in order to meet our goals. Regular updates on the work of these committees will be presented to the board in an ongoing basis. We are also seeking input from our parent community and will be sending out a LCAP and Fiscal Advisory survey in early October.
Attendance Policy Updates
If you haven’t had a chance to read the letter outlining TUHSD’s updated attendance policies, please take a moment to do. The District made meaningful changes to these polices last year. The letter is linked here: TUHSD Attendance Letter 2018
A huge THANK YOU to our parents
I would like to take a moment to thank the parents for all they do to support our programs and schools. At th e various Back to School events I heard all the many ways in which the site foundations have contributed to creating enriching learning experiences for our students. We are so fortunate to have parent organizations that fund requests for instructional technology, enrichment materials, guest artists, field trips, consumable materials for science and art, and much, much more. We could not provide the high quality programing we do without the strong support of our parent organizations such at the foundations and PTSAs. So, again. THANK YOU!!
