  • There will be an informational meeting for all 7th and 8th Grade girls interested in playing Lacrosse for Tamanend on Tuesday, February 25th during Advisory in the Auditorium. If you can’t attend, please see Mr. Klein.
  • If you are interested in participating in Spring Sports, there are several specific items (PIAA physical, Family ID, and concussion testing) that need to be completed prior to the start of tryouts which begin in March. Those items are outlined and explained on the Tamanend Athletics web page, which can be found HERE, and will be explained at the organizational meetings.
  • Any 7th/8th Grader who is trying out/participating in a Spring sport must have ImPact (concussion) testing done prior to the start of your season. Any athlete who took ImPact for another sport played at Tamanend does not need to take it again. If an athlete has not yet taken it, s/he must attend testing after school on Thursday, February 27th in the cafeteria with Mr. Fynes. Students staying for testing must arrange for a ride by 3:45. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Klein or Mr. Fynes.
  • Family ID is now open for spring sports registration for any student in 7th and 8th grades trying out for a spring sport. The deadline to register is Sun. March 15.
  • Tamanend Athletics has a new web site: https://tamanendathletics.com/. Students and parents are encouraged to register as “Fans” for their teams which will allow you to receive immediate notifications when games are changed or cancelled. Simply click on “GET ALERTS” to add your favorite teams, then choose how you want to receive notifications. Please see the attached flier for additional information.
  • If students plan to stay after school on game days, they must be at the game and not walking around or leaving campus. If students are not where they are supposed to be, they will not be permitted to attend future games. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • Any student-athletes interested in trying out for a spring sport at CB South and missed the concussion meeting on 2/5 must attend the make-up concussion education and impact testing on Tuesday, February 18th in the forum room at CB South. This is your LAST CHANCE to complete concussion testing.
  • Family ID is now open for spring sports registration for any student grades 9-12 trying out for a spring sport. The deadline to register is Wed. Feb. 26.

Reminder--Kelly Anne Dolan Sponsorships Available

January 2020

Dear Friend:

Happy New Year! We hope you enjoyed the holidays with family and friends.

The Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund provides assistance for needs not covered by insurance to families who are caring for seriously ill, disabled or severely injured children in the tri-state area. Although they are often invisible to all but the family, the non-medical side effects of serious childhood illness can be devastating. Financial assistance from KADMF can ease these burdens, allowing the parents or guardians to focus more fully on the needs of the child and improving the quality of life for the entire family.

Tamanend Middle School, located in nearby Warrington, has been supporting this important organization for nineteen years by hosting a Kelly Anne Dolan Day, which includes a 3-on-3 Basketball tournament and other activities for the students and Tamanend families. Five hundred Tamanend students participate in the annual event, and over the last nineteen years the students have raised over $476,000. Last year alone, they raised over $29,000! The 20th Annual Kelly Anne Dolan Basketball Shoot-Out will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020, and we hope to surpass last year’s total.

We hope your business considers making a monetary donation or a gift card donation for our gift basket drawings. Your contribution will mean so much to the families who need support from the KADMF this year. While we will gratefully accept any donation, our sponsor levels are as follows:

20th Anniversary Platinum Sponsor - $1000 donation

Monetary donations, made out to KADMF, can be mailed directly to me at Tamanend or to KADMF (address is below). Donations can also be made at dolanfund.org, just make a note that your donation is part of Tamanend’s Basketball Shoot-Out. Gift cards can be mailed to Tamanend, or I am happy to stop by and get them. The Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund is a 501(c) (3) charitable organization, contributions to which are tax-deductible as permitted by law.

Thank you so much for your time and thoughtful consideration in reviewing this request. Should you have any questions about KADMF or this event, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you!

We will share resources and ideas with the goal of helping the entire Tamanend parent community navigate the challenges of raising adolescents. Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 10 at 6:30 PM in the Cafeteria. Please click here for more information.

Student Assistance Program (SAP)

Reminder--Help is Down the Hall

The Tamanend Student Assistance Program (SAP) Team is a group of trained faculty members who can connect students with appropriate help and resources if they show signs of struggling with mental health concerns or alcohol/substance use. If you notice concerns such as major changes in behavior or mood, drop in achievement, or use of drugs or alcohol, then you may consider a SAP referral. When the team receives a referral, we gather more information to determine if there is a need for intervention and further assessment. The information is confidential, and the process is for the purpose of offering help. Anyone can refer a student about whom they are concerned. Referrals can be made at this referral link or by contacting a SAP team member:

Mrs. Barlow, Mrs. Cammann, Sra. Corsino, Mr. Dudley, Mr. Heisey,

Mr. Klein, Mrs. Myrtetus, Ms. Scheffey, & Mrs. Szagola
