The Butterfly Project
Someone that knows can help the most
What is the butterfly project?
It was created for people who self-harm themselves or people who think about harming themselves. It was created to make a stand for them. This is for people who know people who suffer with self-harming or depression and wants them to know they care.
Can you tell the difference?
Be aware. Not everyone that seems happy is actually happy. 1in 5 females and 1 in 7 males suffer from self-harm
How to be aware?
Ask yourself has that person changed. has he/she spend more time alone than with people? Are they wearing long sleeves in the summer? Do they ask you who are they?
How to help?
Just talk to them. Ask if they want or need anything sometimes a hug and a good conversation or even the fact of letting them know you car can be more than enough to change someones mind about cutting.
The Butterfly Project Rules
How this movement works
1) When you feel like you wanna cut, draw a butterfly on your body.
2) Name the butterfly after a loved one or someone who really wants you to get better.
3) You MUST let the butterfly fade naturally. NO scrubbing
4) If you cut before the butterfly is gone you've killled it if you don't cut it lives.
5) If you have more than one butterfly cutting kills them all.
6) Another person may draw the butterfly on you, these are very special take great care of them.
7) Even if you don't cut, feel free to draw a butterfly anyways to show support. If you do this name it after someone you know cuts or is suffering. Tell them it could help
