Week twenty

I'm beaming with pride...

I am so proud of our staff! We have had six new students in the span of a couple of weeks, some coming with a lot of baggage. Despite this challenge, you have all risen to the challenge and have exemplified professionalism to the nth degree. With each student, you have looked at each situation in a positive light, with optimism, and with students first on your mind! As much as people would like to believe every teacher in this country would do so, unfortunately, some do not. However, I am proud to say our staff does! Each and every one of you make me proud to be your principal! I couldn't ask for better teachers...THANK YOU!!! Please know how much I appreciate each and every one of you!

Grant writing

The foundation grant deadline is quickly approaching. Remember that you MUST contact our PN representatives on the foundation a minimum of one week ahead of the deadline to give them a summary of the grant being submitted. I have two staff members that have shared with me that they are writing grants. If you are writing one and have not shared with me, please do so ASAP. Please remember to give yourself extra time for signatures. Do NOT try to do this at the last minute. I want to be sure your hard work pays off!

Early Release: We will still go to the gym in the a.m.

Don't forget that our early release takes place on TUESDAY this week. We will all meet (all staff except counselors and classified staff) in the PAC (Performing Arts Center) by 1:45. There, the district will share the district's vision of Professional Learning Communities. Afterward, we will be split into three groups to learn more about components of PLC's. I do believe most, if not all, of Tuesday's in-service will be review for us. However, I'd rather have it that way than have it be new information and feel behind. Hopefully, it will simply solidify what you already know.

Again, since it's not a Wednesday, we will still go to the gym in the a.m. and follow our normal schedule. Specials at 1:00 and after will not take place due to the early release.

Jeans Day: Friday!

Friday is the next day we can wear jeans as a staff, as long as you donate to the cause. This time, the cause is Habitat for Humanity.

Don't forget!

Grade levels...don't forget to send me your days and times for ST Math training this month. Thank you to fourth grade...congratulations, you were the first to sign up!

Duty Schedule

Gym duty: Hayward/Miller

Bus duty: Runde

Pick up/Drop off: McAndrews

Crow Creek: Stevenson/Paul ** This is a change. Jennifer Saxon was originally scheduled with Stevenson. However, she had duty last week, so I have adjusted the schedule so that she does not have a duty two weeks in a row.
