We are excited to begin planning end-of-year activities that seem a little bit more ‘normal’ or typical. More information will be coming about these events and activities, but I wanted to get them on your family calendars as soon as possible. Please mark your calendars for:
- Ridgeway Reads will be on April 8 and May 6 from 1:50-2:20. Unit A families are invited to join us to read outside on both dates.
- Kindness Week will be May 9-13.
- IGE in Action Night will be May 19, 5:30-6:30. All families are invited to join us as students share their learning.
- The Ridgeway Picnic will be on May 24. No parent volunteers are needed for this event, watch for more information in April.
- Field Day will be May 25 after lunch. We will need parents to help with this! Watch for a sign-up.
- For our fifth grade families – Our Awards and Promotion Ceremony will be May 28 at 8:15.
Whew! There is a lot going on at Ridgeway! Watch for more information coming as we get closer to each event.
Thank you Mr. Ruffin
Thank you to Mr. Ruffin, grandpa to Caeden, for designing and creating our Black History Month display case. It was a beautiful display of vibrant artifacts, literature, and photos.
Unit News
Unit A
Please take time to go through your child’s plastic Unit A Folder and return it to school on Monday. As the weather warms up, please continue to send a labeled jacket to school each day since mornings are cooler than afternoons.
Unit B
Unit C
Watch for a bright yellow informational sheet regarding IGE in Action Night coming home next week. We wanted to get this information out to you before spring break just in case there are educational opportunities to take advantage of over the break.
Please know/recall that IGE in Action projects are projects that are planned and completed at home.
Ridgeway One Read
I hope you have enjoyed reading the beginning of Donavan’s Word Jar. As we embark on week two of the Ridgeway One Read, continue to enjoy this time as a family and challenge yourselves to try some of the optional activities listed on the Tic-Tac-Toe paper. You can engage in conversations with your child by asking them what the trivia question or word-of-the-day announced on the intercom were. Next week we will celebrate the end of the book with a popcorn party on Thursday and the Vocabulary Parade on Friday. Hopefully, your child is excited about the word they are going to portray in the parade.
Happy Reading!

A message from Mrs. Ryberg
Greetings RWE Friends,
As we approach Spring Break, I wanted to share a systems perspective from the Search Institute for positive supports and strengths that research has shown helps young people succeed: https://www.search-institute.org/our-research/development-assets/developmental-assets-framework/. I hope this spring break is a time for you and your family to connect, play together, learn together and spend time in nature, unplugging.
Please reach out anytime your student needs support. The Comprehensive School Counseling Program at Ridgeway is meant to reach every student through classroom lessons, individual and group counseling, crisis counseling, mental health referrals, and systems support. 😊
It is a privilege to work together with our RWE students and families to support your students’ success.

FunDay Big Drawing
Big Drawing ticket information went home in your child's (oldest if you have more than one student) backpack last week. Tickets are $1 each or $5 for 6. The Golden Ticket incentive sales period began last week and runs through Friday, April 8. For every $30 sold in tickets during the incentive sales period, you receive 1 Golden Ticket entry for a chance to win an Oculus Quest 2! The incentive sales deadline is firm, so get those tickets turned in early. A list of prizes will be in the RAP next week.
For questions, please contact Amanda Fues at amandasfues@gmail.com.
To print tickets at home use the following link: https://www.cpsk12.org/site/Default.aspx?PageID=17433 (please note they do print out funny, that's okay--just cut them out and send them in).
FunDay General Store Needs Your Help
Spring cleaning? Toy purging? The FunDay General Store can help! We are looking for fun kid item donations to be sold at the General Store (think kid’s garage sale) at FunDay on a Saturday, April 23.
Help out Ridgeway and free up some space. We’re happy to do a porch pick-up of your fun, lightly used toys/books/kids items starting Monday, April 11 through Thursday, April 21. Items may also be dropped off at school and put on the stage starting Monday, April 18.
The day of Fun Day the kids will be able to bring some cash and take home the fun treasures they purchase at the General store!
Thank you in advance for any parent and teacher help we get to make this a fun and successful fund raiser for Ridgeway!!
(To arrange item pickup, contact Lindsay Petry at LML8781@yahoo.com or text at (636)577-5457)
