More Information
Drama Club- Due to 5/16 now being an optional teacher workday, our school performance is being changed to Tuesday 5/15 @ 8:00 in the gym.
Our 5/10 practice will now be our dress rehearsal and will be extended to 5:00pm. All things needed for their costumes must be brought in before 5/10.
Our night show on 5/18 @ 6:00 in the gym has not changed.

Asheboro Zoo Field Trip Permission Slip
CHARLOTTE-MECKLENBURG SCHOOLS CLASS TRIP STUDENT PERMISSION FORM
Date: May 1, 2018
A fourth grade class trip has been approved to the Asheboro Zoo on June 5th, 2018.
Purpose: To understand the effects of environmental changes, adaptations and behaviors that enable animals (including humans) to survive in changing habitats. 4.L.1
The signature of a parent/guardian is required in order to allow your child to participate in this off-campus trip. Please keep the top portion of this form so you have trip details. Sign the bottom portion of this form and return it to the teacher BY JUNE 1ST, 2018. Students who do not have a signed permission slip by June 1st will not be able to attend.
We look forward to a fun day of learning.

Time of departure from school: Departure 6:15 am from McAlpine.
Time of return to school: 5:00 PM- teachers will send an email when we are arriving closer to school- IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO PICK UP YOUR STUDENT, PLEASE COMPLETE THE INFORMATION BELOW FOR YOUR CHILD’S TEACHER FOR DISMISSAL AFTER THE TRIP.
Additional information about the field trip: Please check the weather as it gets closer. Students will need to wear weather appropriate clothing. Students will need to bring a DISPOSABLE LUNCH. If you are requiring a school lunch, we need to know by FRIDAY MAY 11TH. If you are interested in chaperoning you must be volunteer trained.

Library- The last day for book checkout will be May 18. All books will be due the following Monday. Thanks!
Doors in the Mornings- because of an influx of students entering the building prior to 7:15, the doors at the front will no longer be unlocked. Students will have to wait until the bell rings to enter the building. Sorry for any inconvenience!
Pages 7-32 will be used in class. So please be sure to send the workbook to school EVERYDAY.
We do not want students going ahead without use of proper strategies. If you have a question in regards to this, email your child's teacher.

EOG Test Proctors- Attention all parents and volunteers! EOG HELP NEEDED!
It's that time of year where we need your help to make our end of year test sessions run smoothly. We need many parents and community members to serve as test proctors to keep our school day productive. Please sign up here to help our school! Thank you in advance!
Name Tags- Parents, we are finding that students are losing, breaking or no longer have a name tag. Please see if your child needs a new name tag. If so, please send in $1 for a new one. It is important for students to wear these each day at school. Thank you!
Library Books- there are many missing books from our library. Be sure your students are returning their books. Please get those books in ASAP.

End of Grade Testing Dates - Schools are required to test students at the end of May, working around the Memorial Day weekend. Please mark your calendar so your child is in attendance. The testing dates for McAlpine students will be:
