Soy, Rice, Veggies, Vitamins!

Good People Doing Good Work
What do we do for the 2 hour volunteer shift?
First the FMSC staff and someone from WLFV give a brief orientation where you will watch a short video and learn a little bit about the organizations.
Then everyone moves to the packing room for instructions and a quick demo on how the packing stations work.
The music gets turned on and off you go at packing stations where you scoop the raw ingredients (soy, rice, veggies, vitamins) into a 6 meal bag that gets weighed and sealed. Sealed bags are boxed up and the boxes are palletized for shipping!
As our two hours wind down, packing stations begin the clean up process after which everyone has the opportunity to gather and learn how much was packed and take a quiet moment for thanks and prayer.
One of our biggest pieces of feedback is that folks wish they had more time to pack and it goes too fast! If that is you, feel free to sign up for two sessions in a row!
We look forward to packing with you!
How Does the MobilePack Work? (bigger picture)
WLFV commits to raise a specific amount of money in order to host the MobilePack event. Fundraising efforts ensue (click here to see our progress) and WLFV works to educate and rally the community (churches, organizations, companies, schools, etc) to participate.
The funds are used to purchase the raw ingredients (soy, rice, veggies, and vitamins) that are brought to the MobilePack sites where our volunteers (that's you!) join us for two hour sessions to package the ingredients into pre-portioned bags that are boxed, palletized, and loaded up for transport.
Once ready for transport, the pallets are loaded into shipping containers and are sent to approved aid organizations (schools, orphanages, hopsitals, etc) that FMSC has partnered with. The MobilePack fundraising covers the cost of the food, the aid agencies are then responsible for covering the costs of shipping. FMSC has maintained a 99.97% success rate of food making it to its final destination, which is impressive.
FMSC is recognized as a 4 star non-profit organization by Charity Navigator so you can be confident your contributions are being managed with integrity.
