Patricia Luna Huppertz ES
"504 helps the students by creating an equal playing field. It allows them to have accommodations to have success. I have students who did not want to attend school because they were struggling, who came to love coming to school when they received the accommodations that they needed."
John Hilliard Lanier HS
"As an Administrator, it is my obligation to remove all barriers to learning for my students; ultimately, it's about leveling the playing field to ensure that ALL students can thrive and reach their full potential in SAISD."

What is Dyslexia?
Dyslexic Success Story - Maggie Aderin-Pocock, Ph.D.
Space Scientist & Science Communicator
When Maggie Aderin-Pocock was a very young girl, she loved looking up at the stars in the sky, and she loved a British television stop-animation series about mousy-looking beings from another planet called The Clangers. It’s debatable as to which inspired her dream of becoming a space scientist more, but one thing is sure: the passion Maggie had for space ignited a career and helped her overcome her dyslexia.
