Celebrating Our Wildcats
Learning with eLearning
Though the scope of eLearning has been an adjustment for all of us, it has provided an incredible opportunity to learn new skills and strengths, face insecurities and challenges and experience them joy of accomplishment after stretching to figure out something new!
We are celebrating our Wildcat learners and teachers this week...
*** 2458 students were actively engaged in eLearning this week ***
*** That is over 93% of our student body ***
*** GREAT JOB, WILDCATS! ***
THANK YOU to our LN educators for reworking lessons, rewriting content for eLearning and for providing unique and numerous ways for our students (with varied learning styles) to connect and engage through eLearning.
THANK YOU to our "guest teachers"...our parents...for stepping in to wake tired teens, supporting independent learning and encouraging engagement. We know your job as "parent" becomes more complicated when also serving as "teacher." THANK YOU
THANK YOU to our WILDCATS! Students...you have shown incredible growth, resiliency, determination and persistence. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! Students...you must continue to COMMUNICATE with your teachers, ESPECIALLY if you get stuck with a concept, get ill and cannot log in, lose WiFi, must work during school hours, etc.
Your LN educators are HERE FOR YOU!
eLearning Projects
Ms. Lyon's English-10 students are documenting their experiences through journaling, capturing this unique life experience during the pandemic. Students must complete their assignment by selecting an option of creating a meme or tiktok to document how they're getting through this pandemic.
Brothers and sisters come in handy for actor and crew purposes!
Thanks to Ms. Spearman for permission to share her TikTok video.

Parenting Teens
Struggling to Keep Your Teen on Track?
Raise your hand if you have been at odds with your teenager at some point during the COVID-19 closures.
ALL of us who are working from home AND serving as guest teachers for our own children have likely run into some resistance from our "students" about routines, schedules, timelines, the "right way" to do things, etc. There are a lot of funny memes and videos capturing the frustrations and struggles...because most of us are feeling it!
Here is a little bit of help...an idea and strategy for you to share with your teen if s/he is struggling to get work done, stay focused, avoid phone distractions...and so on.
The Pomodoro Technique is an easy-to-implement strategy for students of all ages and is super effective in helping students to stay on task and experience accomplishment!
