Soul Café Helpful Hints
It is up to each individual if you want to set up/make coffee before service or during service (I personally feel better if I prep before service)!
**YOU HAVE TO RUN A "TEST POT" OF JUST WATER BEFORE MAKING COFFEE!!!**
Coffee (see instruction sheet in drawer under the coffee maker) typically 2 pots regular and 1 decaf.
If service looks like a “larger” crowd you can make 1 regular pot during soul café.
Treats- usually can be found on top of the soul café cart or on kitchen counter.
At times they may be located in the fridge or freezer,
but we try to let you know if that is the case.
Juice, Milk, & Coffee can be brought to the gathering area on a cart from the kitchen.
You can serve coffee from carafes located underneath island in the kitchen.
Napkins, stirrers, cups, etc should be in the soul café cart. Please make sure the sugar, sweet n low, stirrers, powdered creamer, and napkins are on top of soul café cart to be easily accessible. If something is low you can look in the back kitchen pantry. If you notice something is empty or running low please let Mary or Camilla know.

MARCH TO THE MANGER: THIS Sunday, December 22nd
This year’s March to the Manger is scheduled for Sunday, December 22nd during the 8:45 AM service. Each year, following our celebration in song, the congregation is given an opportunity to bring a special offering to the manger as a present for Christ and his work through the Missions Ministries/Partnerships of Prospect UMC. This offering, along with the entirety of the offering received during our 7:00 Christmas Eve service will go to support the missions budget of the church (i.e. We do not keep any of these special offerings for our own budget needs. We give them away as a means of reminding ourselves that “Christmas is not our birthday.”).
PROSPECT KIDS CHRISTMAS PARTY
Everyone is invited to our "Happy Birthday, Jesus!" party on Sunday, December 22 during the Sunday School time (10-10:45). We will have yummy snacks, fun crafts, and a great time celebrating the birth of Jesus.
CHRISTMAS EVE AT PROSPECT
Join us at 7:00 pm on December 24th for our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service as we celebrate the birth of King Jesus!
This service will include our bell and vocal choirs and the proclaiming of the Gospel Story. Join us for communion, along with our tradition of singing Silent Night as candlelight fills the sanctuary.
Our Conference Our Kids
Our Conference Our Kids is endowing the Spiritual Life Ministries at the Baby Fold, Chaddock, Cunningham Children's Home, Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House, and Spero Family Services to ensure the continued inclusion of Christ-Centered Spiritual care in their healing work.
PUMC has been a generous giver to this asking and we were issued a challenge on December 8 to give $2,500.00 to this endowment fund. We have not given any money to this asking for the past year and I would like to see PUMC meet this challenge if not exceed it. You may give to the church and note this is for Our Conference Our Kids and it will be forwarded to the conference.
This fund helps the spiritual lives of at-risk children and families. As we move to the next 50 years, let us not forget who will benefit for the next 50 years. 100 percent of what you give will go toward Our Conference Our Kids. Please give and pray for these children and the staff that works with them.

Thank you to everyone for their support and help with the holiday baskets. We served 26 families this Christmas. We had a delivery from DGS also this week. We’re well supplied with food, but are in need of personal hygiene products such as toothpaste/brushes, body wash/soap & shampoo/conditioner.
We are so grateful for the generous support we’re receiving! Here's a peek at some of our recent donations: #1- Cub Scouts #2 - PUMC Holiday Food Drive #3-Dunlap Grade School
