SAVE THE DATE! UGA Alumni Networking Night: Connect with Employers
This networking event will provide a casual atmosphere where you can network with employers looking for UGA talent. Approximately 50 companies representing a variety of industries will be in attendance, and each company will be assigned a high top table. Light hor d'oeuvres and beverages will also be served. Check in will begin promptly at 6:00 PM. Your resume is your ticket in the door!
This event is free and it is open to all UGA alumni. Valet parking is located at Maggiano’s, and directions can be found here: http://www.maggianos.com/locations/us/georgia/atlanta/

Our guest speaker, Whitney Prescott, joined UGA’s Career Center staff in December 2013 as the College of Education Career Consultant. She is a graduate of Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, where she earned her Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Business degrees. While at Murray State, Whitney served as both a graduate assistant and a full-time Career Counselor in the Career Services Office. In addition, she gained experience from an employer perspective as she also worked in the Office of Human Resources. In May 2015, Whitney transitioned into her current role as Assistant Director of Social Media & Marketing and Career Consultant for the Terry College of Business.

Editor/Producer, Latino USA
NPR’s Latino USA, a national weekly radio program about Latino stories is taking applications for a Producer/Editor full-time position.
We’re looking for someone to join our expanding and vibrant team of radio journalists to essentially wear two hats—to work as a story editor, mostly with freelance contributors to shape and refine their stories, and also, to fill in as a producer creating their own radio stories as needed. This is first and foremost an editor position, so the ideal candidate will have a knack for whipping stories into shape, recognizing what makes a good story in the first place, and working in a collaborative environment. They should play well with others and understand production enough to push producers to do their best kindly while also having an impeccable taste and vision for story. They should enjoy production and reporting too—part of the job will be to find and produce stories on their own. They should have a passion for telling Latino stories and working with voices that are rarely heard in the public media landscape. We’re a small shop, so we need someone who is a true team player unafraid of rolling up their sleeves and doing whatever it takes to complete an assignment.

Camp Counselor & Assistant Director positions open at Bethlehem First United Methodist Church
The Summer Day Camp at Bethlehem First United Methodist Church is hiring Camp Counselors and an Assistant Director for the summer. This is a full time job beginning May 22nd and ending July 28th with approximately 8-9 hour shifts each day. Pay is $8/hr.

GACE Statewide Career Fair
The Georgia Association of Colleges and Employers sponsors the GACE Statewide Career Fair every April to provide an additional opportunity for students and employers to connect for employment opportunities. A variety of employers will be seeking college students and graduates for internships, part-time jobs, and full-time jobs. Graduate schools also participate in this event. To participate, you MUST be a current student or alumni of one of the GACE participating member schools. UGA is a participating member school. Simply bring your school ID or a driver's license and show a copy of your resume (with UGA listed) at the Student Registration area to get in the doors! You do not need to pre-register for the event.
PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE IS REQUIRED. A conservative business suit is your best bet. Remember…you have one chance to make a good impression! Contact your school's career services office for advice on professional attire. The UGA Alumni Association is accepting nominations for the 2018 Bulldog 100 program, which recognizes the 100 fastest-growing businesses owned or operated by UGA alumni. The rankings are revealed at an annual celebration in Atlanta. If you are a Bulldog entrepreneur, or know one, be sure to nominate them by May 31, 2017. Past number one businesses include: Chicken Salad Chick, SMD, LLC, Kabbage, Inc. and The Social Empowerment Center.
