Parent Survey Carnegie Math Pilot
Dear Families,
Parents play an integral role in the curriculum review process, and the District Math Task Force is seeking your feedback on the piloted materials by completing the linked survey. Several pieces of evidence will be evaluated by the Task Force to determine the effectiveness of the Carnegie materials for implementation across the schools. This includes research-based rubrics of curriculum alignment, evidence-based teacher evaluations, assessment results, and parent surveys. Our class will continue to work with the Carnegie materials, and the Math Task Force will meet in early March to continue the curriculum review process. I look forward to communicating our next steps and appreciate your partnership in growing mathematicians! Sincerely,
Daniela Fountain
Assistant Superintendent
Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A

(VIP)-Erin's Law-Parent and Student Information
A state mandate commonly known as “Erin’s Law” will be addressed in our schools in the coming weeks. Erin Merryn, for whom the law is named, is a woman who was sexually abused as a child. She didn’t understand what was happening to her or how to get
help. As an adult, she has become a vocal advocate for providing our children child sexual abuse prevention education.
The law mandates that schools provide age-appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. Teen dating violence is also a required topic for our middle school students. The social workers of
District 113a will be providing this instruction for our students this year.
