Rosa Parks was brought in her childhood her early experiences with racial discrimination and for racial equality; and those experiences inspired her to rebel against that. She started the bus boycott which eventually stopped segregation on public busses. Rosa Parks was awarded the presidential medal of freedom and became a nationally recognized symbol of dignity and strength in the struggle to entrenched racial segregation.
