FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Welcome Back

Dear Parents

Welcome to Term Four. I hope you all had a lovely break and were able to get out and about and enjoy this beautiful spring weather with family and friends. The children have returned eager to learn and dressed impeccably in their summer uniforms. Thankyou for taking the time to ensure they look so clean and neat! This term we have many important events and school activities planned. Please check the online school community calendar and continue to read the newsletter on a fortnightly weekly basis for further information.

Month of the Rosary

The liturgical feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7 and the month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. We dedicate this month to honour Mary in thanks for her love and protection. Each decade of the Rosary refers to an event in the life of Jesus and Mary. Mrs Woodall will be working with the Yr 6 Spirituality council to pray a decade of the rosary with each year level in our Prayer Garden during October.

Year Three Reconciliation

Please keep the Year Three children in your prayers as they celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation on the 26 October 7pm at Our Lady of the Missions Church. Making their first Reconciliation is so special as the children are drawn closer to Jesus as they ask him to help them to make the right choices in their daily lives and understand that saying sorry and showing forgiveness is such an important part of starting afresh in our relationships with others.

Masses

On the 28th October at 2pm in our School Hall we will be having an All Saints Whole School Mass. This mass is a celebration of all the saints who are in heaven, through their good works on earth and through God's grace. All parents are most welcome to join us for this special liturgy.

All families are invited to come celebrate the PCPS Family Mass on Sunday 14 November at 11am at Our Lady of the Mission Church. The P&F Faith Team are currently calling for families to assist on the day. Please see details in the newsletter.

JAM

Jesus And Me (JAM) is happening again on Friday, 29th October at Our Lady of the Missions Church.

The children engage in fun activities learning all about Jesus - Mini JAM (Years 1-3) 4.00pm - 5.00pm and JAM (Years 4-6) 5.15pm - 6.15pm.

Pizza will be provided!

Please text, ring or email Monica or Stefan to rsvp so enough pizza can be ordered! Contact: Stefan 0406 050 035 and Monica 0408 499 985; email: youth ministry247@outlook.com.au

Book this date in your diary now - Carols by Candlelight on Thursday 9 December 6-8pm. Congratulations

Congratulations to Mrs Holness who celebrates 30 Years in Catholic Education this year.

Mrs Holness receives a special award this year from CEWA in recognition of her dedication and commitment. We are extremely fortunate to have Mrs Holness on our staff at PCPS. She is a senior teacher, with so much experience and wisdom to share with the younger staff and of course her outstanding teaching skills, which all the children she has taught over the years, have been lucky to have benefited from.

P&F

The P&F are busy once again with the Dad and Kids Camp coming up on 23 October. Huge thanks to Nick Lynch for organising this event. Icy Pole days coming back this term, thanks to Elva MacDonagh and her helpers for organising this for the children. The children’s Disco will be held on 12 November, many thanks to Tara Pellicano for planning this exciting event for the children. Keep an eye out for further details.

The netball season has come to an end and I would like to say a big thanks to Janine O’Shea for co ordinating the PCPS Netball Club this year. Thank you also to all Team Managers and to the children who I heard had a fun season playing!

Survey

Every 3-5 years Catholic school communities in WA take part in a climate survey. The survey allows an opportunity for parents to tell the Leadership Team how things are going for you and your children. Similar surveys will be administered to staff and students to enable us to capture a community snapshot. All responses are confidential and will be used for school improvement purposes.

Further information about the surveys will be sent via email next week with surveys being open from 18 October – 5 November 2021 for parents. The Leadership Team values your feedback and impressions and the data collected by an external company, will be part of our school improvement journey.

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy this glorious weather!

SCHOOL PHOTO DAY - PRE KINDY

Pre Kindy Photos

Your school photo day is coming! Approximately two weeks prior to the photo day every student will receive a personalised order envelope to bring home from Kapture Photography. The recommended method of ordering your photos is online through Kapture’s website as your payment is secure and can be easily verified at any time. If you pay online, there is no need to return the order envelope to school.

KEEP YOUR ORDER ENVELOPE SECURE!

The unique codes contained on the envelope will be issued only once.

Alternatively you can pay by cash and return the provided envelope to the school on the photography day. Please note the photographers cannot provide change.

Order EARLY for discount photo day prices

Order your photos within 10 calendar days of photo day to receive discount photo day prices. Late orders are handled separately to the school delivery and incur a $20 custom service charge.

Other information

Late cash payment envelopes cannot be accepted by the school office or by Kapture.

Your school will notify you in a few weeks when team and special group photos are available to view and purchase on the Kapture website. Please note; class, individual and sibling portraits are not available to view online prior to purchase.

Kapture offer a money back guarantee for any parent who is not fully satisfied with their photo package. Should you have any queries before or after photo day, please check the FAQ’s on the Kapture website.

All students will be photographed individually on photo day for school administration records AS WELL as included in their class group presentation available for purchase to all families. Should there be any reason why your child should NOT be included in the photo shoot –please contact the school office.

Parking Reminder

Just another reminder - we ask that parents DO NOT park in the bays marked 'STAFF' in the top carpark of the school. Staff are often at Professional Development or Off-Site meetings during the day and when returning to school they require these bays to park to be able to get back to their classrooms. Often staff cannot get a spot as parents are parking in these Staff bays.

There are parking bays available in the top carpark labelled 'Visitors', as well as parking available alongside the oval and behind the Senior block and Library for parents that are not aware. Entry for these parking spots is via the gate at the end of O'Leary Road. Kiss and Ride is also a fantastic and easy option for drop off and pick up.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Dental Clinic News

We enjoy seeing you all come in for your dental check-ups. Recently we have been experiencing a higher than usual amount of missed appointments. The delay that COVID-19 brought has meant that the dental appointments are very precious and we don’t want to see them unused when someone else could attend.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment or update your contact details please advise us on 9401 7285. Please be aware that we always send an appointment via post, followed up by an SMS reminder two days prior.

If anyone coming to the clinic is unwell please contact us to reschedule.

Thank you very much.
