Newsletter Week 9, Term 4
Huirangi Primary School, Monday 13th December 2021
Kia Ora Koutou, Hello Everyone!
Welcome to the last week of term! It is hard to believe how fast term 4 has gone. Today's newsletter is jam packed with reflections and notices, so please note dates and changes moving into the new year.
School finishes for our students on Wednesday 15th December at 3pm. As it will be the last time our Year 6 students will walk out of our gates as Huirangi students, we will be forming a Guard of Honour down the pathway to celebrate them as they leave. Parents of Year 6's are more than welcome to stand at the gateway (not onsite) for photo opportunities. Please wear a mask.
End of Year reports come home with your child this afternoon. These are a wonderful celebration of your child's learning journey this year.
Again, a sincere thank you from myself, the staff and our Board of Trustees for being such a wonderfully supportive community. This year has really proved challenging with all the COVID-19 restrictions in place. I must admit I am looking forward to a break from all the COVID updates for a few weeks! I really do hope that the 2022 school year runs in a smoother fashion for all schools across the country!
Enjoy a safe summer holiday with your fabulous tamariki. We look forward to seeing them all again when school starts on Tuesday 1st February 2022.
Ngā mihi nui,

In 2022 we welcome Mrs Adriana Thomas and Mrs Carly Douglas to our staff. Adriana will be teaching alternate weeks in Room 3 with Mrs Julie Walker. Carly will be our Learning Through Play Coach in the Junior School. We know that Adriana and Carly will both be a huge asset to our teaching team!

2022 Year 5 and 6 Camp
A letter went home to all 2022 Year 5 and 6 students last week, outlining basic information for the camp. If you didn't receive information regarding this, please contact the office before Wednesday afternoon.
We will be holding a camp meeting for the parents who will be helping during camp, on Thursday 3rd February at 3.10pm. In the event we have too many parents offering their help, we will make a selection prior to this meeting.

BOT News
The BOT have chosen not to fill Adam's position on the Board until the September 2022 elections, as to do so would require a By-election. In the meantime Zara Ryan has been selected to fill the position left vacant after Sanne Duntjer-Tebbens resigned earlier in the year. Welcome Zara !
