FJVD Weekly Info

We Live the Word!

From the Principal's Desk

Dear Father Doyle Families,

As shared with families via email earlier this week, you can now find the school's weekly COVID-19 Data below. We're grateful to see our numbers, as well as numbers across the state, begin to decline from this recent surge. A few other reminders regarding COVID-19 information and protocols:

  • Beginning today, January 21st, please email with any COVID-related questions including return to school dates, length of quarantine/isolation, travel policies, etc. You will also receive positive case notifications from this email address.
  • If your child is symptomatic and requires a negative PCR test to return to school, you can schedule that test at the link here: This form will be updated each week, and you can always use this same link.

While COVID-19 continues to be a constant consideration, there are other great things happening and coming up here at Father Doyle. This includes:

  • Help spread the word! We're hosting an Open House on Sunday, January 30th from 12:30pm-2:30pm. Interested families can register at
  • Planning for the celebration of Catholic Schools Week January 30th-February 5th (Calendar of Events coming next week!)
  • Preparations for our Annual Auction (see below for more information)
  • STAR Testing for K-8 students to gather actionable data to inform classroom instruction
  • 4-Year Strategic Planning continues, including focus area committee meetings and drafting of initial goals (a reminder that we will have three family review nights at the end of March when the first draft of the plan is completed!)

The Annual Father John V. Doyle School Auction

Our school is preparing for it’s biggest fundraiser and social event of the year, the Annual Silent/Live Auction, which this year will feature an in person Dinner and Live Auction at the Quonset O Club on Saturday Evening, March 26, as well as a Livestream Silent Auction Kickoff Event one week prior to the Auction. Last year, we were able to complete our outdoor sport court project with the Auction Proceeds; this year, we are raising funds to start a new multi year project: the renovation of our classrooms with all new desks and chairs. We are currently working with teachers and furniture providers to determine the best options for classrooms, and you can see some sample images below.

The School will be starting to ask for various donations for the Auction in the weeks to come, and a lot more info on the Auction will be coming soon here and on our social media, so stay tuned! Currently check-out the flyer here discussing our connection and support of local small businesses through our Annual Auction.

As always, thank you for your continued support!

Lastly, a reminder that Monday, January 24th is a professional day. There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, 1/24. Thank you!

God bless, and Go Saints!

Scheduling a Test for Your Symptomatic Student

If your child develops symptoms and is need of a PCR test to return to school, we recommend scheduling a drive-up test at the school. We usually receive results within 24-48 hours, which is must faster than the current turnaround time at state sites.

You can schedule that test here:

Please note, the link will be updated each week with the days that PCR testing is available. You do not need a new link each week.

We are only able to offer drive-up PCR testing on certain days based on the availability of our nurses. Thank you for your understanding!

Ordering Lunch through the FACTS Family Portal

We have heard feedback from families that it is difficult to know when the lunch menu for each month has been posted and will be closed for ordering.

With this in mind, we have contacted the provider and developed the following schedule:

  • The lunch menu will open for ordering on the 7th of the month prior (i.e. the March lunch menu will be available February 7th)
  • Ordering will close on the 14th of each month (i.e. the March lunch menu will close on February 14th)

We hope this new schedule will assist families is submitting their lunch orders. If you have difficulty ordering lunch through the FACTS Family Portal, please contact Mrs. Boiardi at

Thank you!

Ice Cream Orders- January

As you may have seen, we have piloted ice cream ordering through our FACTS Lunch Menu ordering system for the month of January.

Many families have ordered through this new system. If you have ordered ice cream through FACTS for this upcoming month, there is no need to place another order.

If your child does not order lunch through FACTS, or you were unable to order ice cream through the FACTS Lunch Menu, you can still order as you have done in the past through the Google Form found here: January Ice Cream Orders.

Thank you!

What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected

Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence

How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.

Bottle Cap Drive

We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.

All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.

Thank you!
