FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Father Doyle Families,
As shared with families via email earlier this week, you can now find the school's weekly COVID-19 Data below. We're grateful to see our numbers, as well as numbers across the state, begin to decline from this recent surge. A few other reminders regarding COVID-19 information and protocols:
- Beginning today, January 21st, please email covidinfo@fjvd.org with any COVID-related questions including return to school dates, length of quarantine/isolation, travel policies, etc. You will also receive positive case notifications from this email address.
- If your child is symptomatic and requires a negative PCR test to return to school, you can schedule that test at the link here: https://bit.ly/FJVDSymptomaticPCR. This form will be updated each week, and you can always use this same link.
While COVID-19 continues to be a constant consideration, there are other great things happening and coming up here at Father Doyle. This includes:
- Help spread the word! We're hosting an Open House on Sunday, January 30th from 12:30pm-2:30pm. Interested families can register at bit.ly/fjvdopenhouse22
- Planning for the celebration of Catholic Schools Week January 30th-February 5th (Calendar of Events coming next week!)
- Preparations for our Annual Auction (see below for more information)
- STAR Testing for K-8 students to gather actionable data to inform classroom instruction
- 4-Year Strategic Planning continues, including focus area committee meetings and drafting of initial goals (a reminder that we will have three family review nights at the end of March when the first draft of the plan is completed!)
The Annual Father John V. Doyle School Auction
Our school is preparing for it’s biggest fundraiser and social event of the year, the Annual Silent/Live Auction, which this year will feature an in person Dinner and Live Auction at the Quonset O Club on Saturday Evening, March 26, as well as a Livestream Silent Auction Kickoff Event one week prior to the Auction. Last year, we were able to complete our outdoor sport court project with the Auction Proceeds; this year, we are raising funds to start a new multi year project: the renovation of our classrooms with all new desks and chairs. We are currently working with teachers and furniture providers to determine the best options for classrooms, and you can see some sample images below.
The School will be starting to ask for various donations for the Auction in the weeks to come, and a lot more info on the Auction will be coming soon here and on our social media, so stay tuned! Currently check-out the flyer here discussing our connection and support of local small businesses through our Annual Auction.
As always, thank you for your continued support!
Lastly, a reminder that Monday, January 24th is a professional day. There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, 1/24. Thank you!
God bless, and Go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin
