Bromley Ball
December 9th 6:00 - 7:30 PM
The Bromley Ball is a dance hosted by the PTO. It is for Kindergarteners, 1st and 2nd graders only. A parent or guardian must accompany the child for the duration of the dance.

Candy Cane Drive
Mr. Olmsted's class will be selling candy canes and chocolate mints after school starting on Monday the 5th and ending on Friday the 16th. The stand will be set up in the courtyard outside of the auditorium.
Candy canes will be 50 cents each or 5 for $2, and chocolate mints will be 25 cents each or 5 for $1. All of the profits will go to buy gifts for families in our community who need a little help making Christmas a little brighter. Come buy some candy and help a great cause at the same time!
Counselor's Corner
Character, personaje, 特点, ʻano ʻano, tính cách - every language around the world has a word that describes the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. While the exact definition of character may differ across cultures and people these differences are slight and most can agree that good character is more than just being nice. At BECS, we celebrate those traits and qualities that make our students the best and brightest. In our unique role, the counseling team uses our time with students to reiterate those most important traits of good character. Honesty - telling the truth, even when it is hard. Integrity - doing the right thing, even when no one is looking. Respect - ourselves, other people and the rules & expectations of our school, community and other places we spend our time - whether we agree or not. Synergize and think Win/Win means putting aside our personal agenda and considering other points of view when we work with others. Work hard and then play to accomplish our goals and move forward - we want our students to achieve all of their dreams!
There are many other traits that go into a person's character - loyalty, self control, gratitude and kindness just to name a few. Your BECS counseling team strives to model and emulate these traits while supporting students in their academic and personal pursuits. Want to talk more at home? Here are some great conversation starters.

Modified Dress Expectations and Fund Usage
On the last Friday of each month, we have Modified Dress Days for students to wear attire that is outside of the normal Bromley East uniform. For students to participate in this day, they are required to bring in $1 that is collected and utilized in a variety of ways to support students and student activities. Below are the remaining Modified Dress Day dates, as well as how Bromley East will use the funds collected during Modified Dress Days to support students and student activities.

Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment for NEW students wishing to attend BECS in the 23-24 school year opened on November 30th. Open Enrollment closes on February 24 and the lottery will be held at the beginning of March. If you are offered a spot, you will have 48 hours to accept the spot.
Please note that EXISTING students do not need to re-apply, instead, we will be sending an Intent to Return survey in January.
Please share this information with anyone you know who would like their child to attend BECS next year! Word of mouth is our best advertisement!
Outside Recess Clarification
Research shows that students perform better both behaviorally and academically throughout the school day when they are able to go outside for recess. Therefore, at Bromley East we strive to get students outside for recess as much as possible. We will take our students outside for recess unless one or more of the following exist:
The actual temperature outside is below 25 degrees
There is precipitation falling
There are dangerous conditions outside
Please ensure that you are sending your student to school dressed appropriately for the weather each day. The administration will make a determination when these conditions exist, and will let students and teachers know whether recess will be indoors or outdoors.

Volunteers/Holiday Activities
There is a lot of activity around the building and teachers need volunteers. Please make sure you have your volunteer packet filled out so you can assist at any time. You can access the form online now. We are excited to share that we have 364 parents who have signed up to volunteer. Thank you for getting this done. You are amazing!!!!! Remember all volunteers whether chaperoning a field trip or holiday event volunteer needs a form filled out.
