IMPORTANT UPDATE - NEW RELEASE TIME!
The purpose of the new release time is to allow the buses additional time to get to the elementary schools in time for dismissal.
A Letter from Admin
It has been a great start to the school year. We have some new changes that have been really setting us up for success. If you don't follow us on Facebook, please go follow us. We will be posting photos often and other fun updates. Just a few reminders:
- Please remind your student about the dress code. The purpose of the dress code is to encourage students to "dress for success" and come to school properly prepared for participating in the educational process. We really appreciate everyone's support on this.
- WIN (What I Need) time, which happens every day, except Wednesday, is an opportunity for students to get the extra support they need in math or language arts. This extra support of WIN time will give the students more opportunities to be successful in all classes.
This year, we would love to see our families here in our building and become a part of this amazing community we have built. You can volunteer by helping with lunch duty, crosswalk duty, being a part of our PTO, coming to our Parent Advisory Committee meetings, or finding a way to be involved. Please just make sure you have filled out the volunteer application before coming in.

Teacher Spotlight - Mrs. Mathias
Snack: chips and salsa
Color: lime green
Fast Food: breakfast burritos from Sonic
Store: Halloween City
Book: Four Winds
Sport: track and field
KMS is thrilled to welcome Mrs. Mathias to the AVID classroom! She was previously a paraprofessional in the KMS 8th grade resource room and earned her teaching degree this summer. Mrs. Mathias has been working with students since she was 16 years old. She taught preschool for 12 years and has a love for her pets: dogs, cats, and tortoise! One of Mrs. Mathias' favorite past times is to road trip around Idaho and Oregon and spend time with her family.
Historians in Action!
Students in Mrs. Kay's history class practiced analyzing primary documents. They had to piece together the story of her life based on documents, letters, yearbooks, and pictures. These historians are off to a GREAT start! They now know all about her without her even saying a word!
