Itinerary
Day 01: Istanbul Arrival Day (-,-,-)
Upon arrival in Istanbul Ataturk Int’l Airport pax will be welcome with Tempel Travel signage. Our English-speaking asst will transfer you to your hotel for check in. Check in is between 1200hrs and 1400hrs. There is a welcome cocktail and tour briefing will be provided in the hotel at 1800hrs meeting location will be the hotel reception. Free and easy day for leisure
Day 02: Istanbul to Cappadocia (B, -, D)
After breakfast start Istanbul tour with following places: Tour of “Sultan Ahmet Center,” the heart of the “Old City” from where the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires were ruled. Hagia Sophia, one of the greatest marvels of architecture, constructed as a basilica in the 6th Century by Emperor Justinian. Blue Mosque, facing Hagia Sophia, famous with its blue Iznik tiles and unique with 6 minarets, built in the name of Sultan Ahmet. Hippodrome, center of sportive events and political activities in the Old City. Serpentine Column, Obelisk of Theodosius and German Fountain of Wilhelm II are the monuments decorating the Hippodrome. Grand Covered Bazaar, most attractive shopping center and the biggest “souk” in the world with nearly 4000 shops selling antiques, jeweler, gold, carpets, leatherwear, and souvenir. In the evening, take a domestic flight to Cappadocia and overnight in hotel.
Day 03: Cappadocia (B,L,D)
Optional balloon tour. Depart from hotel at 09.30-10.00 depending on the arrival time of participants and visit to Devrent Valley to see unique fairy-chimneys. Drive to Pasabagi (Monk’s Valley) to see the most interesting mushroom –shaped pinnacles. In the afternoon, visit Goreme Open Air Museum where remains of rock-cut churches and Christian settlements date back hundreds of years and then to Kaymakli Underground City, the place where early Christians hid from persecutors. Shopping time for the well-known merits of the area before returning to hotel. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 04: Cappadocia-Konya-Pamukkale (B,L,D)
Today’s ride will be fairly long and tiring due to the long distance between Cappadocia and Pamukkaleand lack of convenient lodging location. Drive to Konya to visit to the Mausoleum of Mevlana, the world-famous mystic figure. Then continue on to Pamukkale and overnight at hotel.
Day 05: Pamukkale – Kusadasi (B,L,D)
Tour of the ruins of Hierapolis including the magnificently preserved cemetery “Necropolis,” the Main Street and Gates, the Thermal Baths, the Roman Theatre and the Museum. In the afternoon, tour Aphrodisias, the city of Aphrodite; visit the Museum, the Temple of Aphrodite, the Theatre, the Stadium, the Agora, the Harian Baths, the Odeon, and the Bishop’s Palace. Proceed to hotel in Kusadasi for overnight
Day 06: Kusadasi - Istanbul (B,L,-)
Morning tour to Ephesus area with Artemis Temple, Ephesus Antique City, Hillside Houses are excluded; entrance fees require additional admission fee), one of the most popular ancient sites of Turkey with many acres of carefully excavated ruins; Virgin Mary’s House, where St. Mary is supposed to spend her last years together with St. John. Selcuk Ephesus Museum. Time for shopping. Return to Istanbul Airport. Flight should be 2200hrs to complete all tours on the 6th day.
