Keep reading. Read as many of the 20 Lone Star books so you can prepare yourself for the competition.
The Fort Bend ISD MatchBook! Reading Competition is designed to promote and foster a love of reading in students. Reading as a team, students who are strong readers model their love of reading to their peers and develop leadership and team building skills. Less enthusiastic readers are exposed to various types of reading and have an opportunity to read high quality books to encourage future book selection. Matchbook! motivates all students to find their perfect book match!
MATCHBOOK! COMPETITION WILL BE VIRTUAL IN 2021
Due to online learning, final competitions and presentations for MatchBook! will be virtual. More information will come.
FCMS awesome writers!
In January 2020, our local author Crystal Allen visited FCMS ELA classes and taught our students how to write short stories. Six weeks later students submitted their stories to Mrs. Allen. The author picked 15 winning stories and published them on her StrikeWriters website.

Library Schoology Course-- full of resources
A Library Schoology course has been added this year to enable all students from both face to face and virtual learning models to access a variety of resources.
Students can find helpful information to access all kinds of services to keep up with their reading needs. In the Research and resources folder, there are helpful directions/videos on how to utilize FBISD digital resources to complete research projects. Students can select activities in the virtual makerspace folder to develop their creativity. We also provided many videos and tips to students and parents on navigating FBISD technology applications and troubleshooting devices.
