Discussion Ideas:
- What are areas that we are doing well in our grade level?
- What are areas that we no longer teach that we used to be responsible for?
- What are the areas that we now are responsible for, that we didn't used to be?
- Are we protecting kids from high expectations? Meaning, are we making choices to not teach something because, "I feel it's to hard for my grade level of kid?"
- Are my students practicing reading enough on their own? Am I reading to much for the kids? Do I summarize to much of the story when my students can be doing this activity?
- When does shared writing become independent? Are my writing instructions matching the standards?
- What if my students writing is not perfect?
