Meadow Creek Friday Flyer

October 9, 2015

Thank you!

Thank you so much for being a part of the Student Led Conference Day! It was great to see so many families and we were so proud of all of our students for being a part of their learning!

Thank you to the many families who attended our National Night Out. Thank you to our wonderful PTA for sponsoring this event. It was great to see the Mayor of Bedford, several city council members, the Bedford Police Department and the Fire Department all be a part of this event.

Columbus Day Holiday

Don't forget that Monday is a school holiday!

Black and Blue Food Drive

We are remarkable! Our students did an amazing job of bringing in over 13,000 items for the Black and Blue food drive. PK and K won the grade level challenge with the most items brought in for Meadow Creek. Thank you again for your remarkable support for the 6 Stones Food Bank!

Wednesday, October 28 - Animal Shirt Day

Thursday, October 29 - Disco Day

Lunch Anyone?

Students love when parents come to school to have lunch with them! We are glad to have you join your child anytime. We have a few tables in the halls for you to eat with your child and we have several spots on the patio off the cafeteria for you to use on nice weather days.

Please check with the teachers on duty for a place to sit in the cafeteria. We will have a designated table for you to use for your lunch visit. We ask that you not sit at a table that is designated for students. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Barnes and Noble event

Tomorrow, October 10, at the Hurst Barnes and Nobles, author Polly Holyoke will be signing and discussing her books. Holyoke wrote one of last year's Bluebonnet Books called "The Neptune Challenge." Mrs. Wolery-Blood did a book club with 5th and 5th graders last year with this book and is using the sequel, "The Neptune Challenge," this year. She will be at the Hurst Barnes and Noble at 2:00!

The Reflections Program is back at Meadow Creek this year. The theme this year is "Let Your Imagination Fly". We know that we have some amazing, creative and talented children at Meadow Creek.

All rules for all categories can be found online at:

The deadline for all entries is October 15, 2015.

Math Parent Night

The District will be hosting a Math Parent Night on October 14 at 6:00 PM at the Pat May Center. New TEKS were introduced by the State of Texas to all grades last year and it made significant changes to the order skills were taught and how we teach math. If you would like to learn more about the new TEKS and how HEB has been able to create a curriculum that will provide the skills your child will need to be successful, please make plans to attend this meeting.

Meadow Creek PTA Fall Festival

The Meadow Creek Fall Festival is on Saturday, October 31. It is a day full of fun, friends, and food! PTA is looking for volunteers and donations. Our Silent Auction is always fantastic and is still looking for amazing items to put up for bid. Each grade level is collecting items for grade level themed baskets for the silent auction as well. Please contact any PTA board member if you are interested in helping in any way!

Lost and Found

Our Lost and Found is starting to multiply! We have lots of water bottles, lunch boxes, shirts and jackets. If there is a name on any item, we work hard to return it to its owner. Next week, we will be donating this group of items to the HEB Clothes Closet. If you have lost something, be sure to come and see if it is yours!
