Principal's Note
- Increase percent of students above the proficient and advanced percentile using the "norms scale" on the Spring FAST aMath assessment (grade-level assessments at kindergarten) by 6% points.
- 100% of our students will have a reading goal for the 2018-2019 school year by October 15, 2018. 90% of our students will achieve their individualized reading goal as measure by F & P levels in 2-6 and grade-level Superkids assessments at K-1.
Staff has been and will continue to work hard during the year to complete action steps that were created to work toward these goals. We are committed to helping each and every student grow academically throughout the year to prepare them for their future paths. Please reach out if you have any questions about your child's growth during the year or what you can be doing from home to help each child achieve his/her goals in literacy and math.
In addition, we have a building focus each year around behavioral goals in the building as we know that successful elementary schools commit to growing students not only academically but also socially and emotionally. This year, we are focused around recognizing positive behaviors in students in the building. We have added our Student of the Month and our PAWS slips to recognize behaviors we are proud of in the building. Also, we have been working on creating consistent playground rules for all students since our behavioral data shows that we needed to work on consistent behaviors in this area of the school. See the rules that we are discussing with students at: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1s_NWJ2KxOeXiqbGchskmu9Py_FLakeXwWVEtLt_wYFQ/edit?usp=sharing
Please discuss these playground rules with your child to let them know that we are all working on this together to ensure our playground is a safe and fun place for all students. We are working on a 6th grade recess group to work with our younger grades on safe playground behaviors. These "Panther Playground Pals" will be trained in November and start working with students on the playground in December.
Month of Giving - Coins for Kids
We are changing the order of the weeks this year and will do Crazy Dayz first the week of Nov. 5-9. Students were introduced today to the three events Mrs. Blue will have to do based on the winning donations.
On Nov. 12-16, students will compete as grade-level teams for the Penny/Nickel/Dime/Quarter/Dollar Days. Each day of the week has a designated coin to bring in. The winning grade level will get to do something special for the event Mrs. Blue will do as part of the winning Crazy Dayz.
In the past, PVES has participated in the Fill the Bus for the Town of Mukwonago. They are not doing this activity this year so we will concentrate on earning as much money as we can for toys for families needing support during the holiday season.

Specials Report - Music - Mr. Hackbarth
The 4th, 5th, and 6th graders are almost ready to perform their fall concert for you. Our show is titled Lights! Camera! Action! and will be taking place on November 15th, 7:00 PM at our new PAC at Mukwonago High School. Please be on the lookout for information in regards to parking for this event. Also, make sure that you have turned in the permission slip that allows your student to attend our rehearsal at the PAC the morning of the concert.
2nd and 3rd grade are currently learning about patriotic music with Veteran’s Day quickly approaching. Their favorite song is entitled "We Honor You" by Michael Souders.
Kindergarten and 1st grade have recently been enjoying our unit on echo songs and fun Halloween-inspired games.
Thank you for your support!
