Gilbert Silva
Early College High School Student
Personal Bio.
Gilbert Silva is a Senior, seeking an internship in an engineering/geoscience field, utilizing prior knowledge of science in order to aid in conducting business in a safe, environmentally sustainable and economically optimum manner. Any other field is welcome, as it will provide opportunities to adapt to new environments. Currently, he partakes in debate at his school, the Houston Academy for International Studies. While doing this, Gilbert builds speaking skills while meeting new people simultaneously. He is also a part of the program GeoForce Texas. What the program does for him is the opportunity to study across the United States about geo-science. He uses what he learns from school to apply it to real life functions. Gilbert takes dual credit classes at HCC, so he already has some insight of future studies. Gilbert is ready to take on new challenges in a career that will test his level of global competency into the future.

Voluntering for the YMCA-2015
On April 25th, the YMCA sponsored Healthy Kid's day. I, along with a group of teens, manged a booth tasked with giving fruit flavored water and information on a YMCA trip.
GeoForce- Summer 2014: Mount Saint Helens
Here I am going over my notes about what dictates a mountain and its properties. Outside is the harshness of farmlands in Washington. We were on our way to Mount Hood to view a mountain in its entirety. From there, we went to the main attraction, Mount Saint Helens, to learn more about geo-science.
Phoenix Festival 2014
My class was tasked with representing the country of Niue. It is a small island located northeast to New Zealand. Working as a team, my class had to put together a booth and activities. We showed the beauty and structure of this country at a fair within our school.
