End of the Year Procedures

LMS will have locker clean out on Friday, May 25th at the end of the day. We will run a different schedule to allow time for cleaning. See the schedule below. Once lockers are cleaned out, no lockers will be available the following week. Please have a backpack or bag to take home your items. Backpacks will be allowed on Monday and Tuesday of the following week.


The end of the year field trips will be on the last day of school. Each grade level will be sending home a permission slip and information. The only bags allowed on the trips will be cinch bags and all bags will be checked before getting on the buses. The schedule will be sent out to parents by grade team leaders.


If you have a textbook or any other item checked out, please have those turned in by Friday, May 25th.

Interested in being in Leadership next year?

Come grab a packet from the front office starting on Monday. All packets must be turned in to the front office by 4 pm on Friday, May 25th. You will need 2 teacher recommendations filled out in addition to the application.

Interested in having a voice?

Ms. Spannagel is looking for students to join the LMS Student Design Team. This team looks at PRIDE card awards, talks about fun events, and makes decisions for the school. Any student may sign up to be on the team. All meetings occur during the school day.

Close Out Procedures for the End of the School Year

Close Out Steps for Academic Year:


  • If you are leaving the district at the end of this school year and not returning to Norman Public Schools next August 2018, we are checking with your school sites to see about early check in of devices prior to finals week.

    • The Help Desk Team will accept the MacBook Devices reviewing for damage and helping you to remove your covers that you may have purchased.

    • They will check in both cords that were provided to you in addition to checking in your MacBook.


  • For students who find out after the last day of school in May 2018 that they will not be returning to Norman Public Schools in August 2018, please return your device and cords to your respective school site or Technology Services Center at 4100 N. Flood Ave.

    • The Help Desk Team will accept the MacBook Devices reviewing for damage and helping you to remove your covers that you may have purchased.

    • They will check in both cords that were provided to you in addition to checking in your MacBook.


  • During the first three school weeks of May, for students who are planning on returning to the district next year.

    • Please check in with the Help Desk at your school site so we can review the devices for any potential damage, allowing us to repair during the early part of summer 2018 and returning the device to you promptly.

    • You will have the opportunity to keep the device over the summer.


  • Summertime Updates.

    • Upgrades to the devices will happen during the summer months. When these updates push out, please keep the device plugged into power and connected to the internet, so that the updates will continue to work properly for you.

    • If you have repairs that are needed, please contact the Help Desk at your respective school site to get your device repaired.

    • If your device is lost or stolen during the summer, please contact the help desk at your respective school site to report the loss.

  • Interested in Purchasing a MacBook Air.

    • In working with our partners at Apple, please see following link - Apple Education Pricing. This will provide you an option to purchase a comparable MacBook Air to what you have been using in your current studies.

    • Our current MacBook being used by students is a MacBook Air model A1466.


  • Email and Drive Items

    • If you are preparing to leave the district and not return in August 2018, you may have items in your drive and gmail that you would like to be able to access in the future. Please plan on copying these items out of email and or drive, as your account will be inactivated thirty (30) days after you leave the district.
