Action Required and Deadlines
From the Principal's Desk
- Thank you to Rachel Elder for organizing our Spelling Bee and to all of you who helped. Kuddos to your students for being a great audience! We even had parents comment on this!
- Is your class or grade level giving to someone in need this Christmas? Just let me know if you are.
- Campus Leadership Team (CLT) meets on Wednesday at 3:30.
- As you make instructional plans for these next 2 weeks, please remember to make your lessons and activities meaningful so that continued learning takes place everyday. We don't want to waste even one day of potential learning, especially right before the students are off for 2 weeks. Keep your schedules as regular as possible.
- A few weeks ago Governor Greg Abbott declared the week of January 27th to be Holocaust Remembrance Week, with January 27th designated as Holocaust Remembrance Day in the State of Texas. Senate Bill 1828 had been passed during the last legislative session and the bill will go into effect this year. Holocaust Remembrance instruction will be given to students Pre-K thru 12 in Burleson ISD and will include age-appropriate material, which is recommended by the Texas Holocaust and Genocide Commission has been prepared and coordinated by the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum. Prepared lesson plans and a scope and sequence has been prepared and you are welcome to view the Holocaust Remembrance Week Instructional Content. An introductory video with instructions and procedures is being created and will be sent out to teachers and administration several weeks before the remembrance week observance.

Take Care Thursday for December -
Teachers,
Students are very social but will sometimes find a “best friend” and only spend time with that one person. The Mindset "We Are Connected" teaches us that we are connected to many people in many ways and that we should embrace everyone in order to be able to share all life has to offer. Our third TAKE CARE THURSDAY lesson is from Unit 3:We Are Connected and we will complete it this coming Thursday, December 12. It is Lesson 3.1 Embrace Everyone. The following link will take you to the instructions for facilitation.
