AEHS WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
October 24, 2022
Happy Monday! I want to start by saying "Thank You" to all who had a hand in making Homecoming a huge success. We sold roughly 1023 tickets, which is the most tickets sold in at least the last 10 years at Einstein. Students and staff had a great time at the dance and our students truly outdid themselves with hallway decorations. Thank you to the sponsors, teachers, staff, parents and students who all played a part in making this a memorable Homecoming for our students. Though I was not able to be there in person, I was kept apprised of all that was going on and I remain impressed with the talent and school spirit our students poses. Way to go Titans! You are second to NONE!
Please see the new and updated information below. Students and parents, please remember that the end of Marking Period 1 is fast approaching. It is imperative that students who are on the cusp of passing hunker down to earn a passing grade, now! With this in mind, Parent Teacher Conferences will take place November 21-22. While we will provide details soon so parents can sign up to speak with their students' teacher(s), I want you to know that you have an open invitation to speak with your child's teacher, counselor, or administrator. You do not have to wait until Parent Teacher Conferences to do so. Please feel free to use the AEHS Staff Directory to reach out directly to the staff member(s) you would like to speak to if you have questions, and we will do our absolute best to answer any questions you might have.
All the best,
Mark

CONGRESSIONAL APP CHALLENGE (REPEAT)
Good morning! Congressmember Jamie Raskin wants you to know that he is hosting a district-wide Congressional App Challenge (CAC) for middle school and high school students to encourage them to learn to code and inspire them to pursue careers in computer science.
Through the 2022 Congressional App Challenge (CAC) students have the chance to create an app on any topic and platform they choose – and be rewarded for their efforts! Check out the Congressional App Competition Past Winners!
Participation is so easy! Students do not need to submit a finished app to the challenge. Instead, the App Challenge requires students to submit a short video explaining their app and showing footage of any finished portions of the application.
Additional information about the competition can be found on our website.
There is still plenty of time to take part in the Challenge. The deadline for students to register and submit their app online is 12:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
