CASSPP Testing
Every school year 11th graders take the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress or CAASPP. The CAASPP monitors student progress and ensures that all students graduate college and career-ready. Juniors are also required to take the California Science Test or CAST. The CAST measures student progress of the Next Generation Science Standards.
These tests will be administered in April, after spring break, using modified bell schedules. Students must report on-time to their assigned testing room with a charged chromebook and earbuds.
Students absent during testing will be pulled out of class to make-up missed assessments. Questions regarding the CAASPP, CAST or testing schedule can be emailed to Assistant Principal Valerie Kuhlken at vkuhlken@guhsd.net .

New Food Options
In an effort to meet the needs of our student's religious restrictions, Food Services will be implementing a new chicken Halal product when Ramadan ends. Below is the certification for the Halal product for all families to see.
GUHSD Food Services | Providing the best quality and service
In addition to the new product, we also created a website for families to see how their food is made at school. Click the link above to view. We have added some vegan and vegetarian options and plan to add more.
It's Scholarship Season
The California Student Aid Commission is hosting several Cash for College online webinars. During these virtual events, students can get answers to questions they may have about the FAFSA or CADAA. Students and their parents or guardians are welcome to attend. Webinars are free, and students can register on the Cash for College Workshop Registration webpage.
Attendance Matters
*Please excuse absences within 72 hours.
Secure Campus and Lockdowns
Reminder: a “secure campus” is typically called when there’s police activity in the surrounding area. In a secure campus situation, the campus is secured, but our school day continues. In a “lockdown,” it’s likely that there’s been a threat of some kind made to campus that requires immediate investigation. In a lockdown situation, the campus is secured and students take cover in place.
