SCHEDULE

From Mr. Clemente

Dear Winter Park Band families,

I hope everyone has had a pleasant and relaxing weekend!

The Program ads and Sponsors fundraiser deadline has been extended one final time to Wednesday, 9/11 at 5:15 PM. This is the final extension.

Since the Band will not be in attendance at the postponed football game tomorrow night, this week's Friday football game will be our first performance in full Marching Band uniform. As a reminder, students will need to have the following items for Friday evening:

  • Calf-length black socks
  • Black marching band shoes (to be passed out at rehearsals this week)
  • Spandex shorts to wear under the bibbers
  • Athletic shorts to wear over the spandex shorts before and after changing into uniform
  • 2019 Show Shirt
  • Personal water jug (with your name on it!)
  • White gloves (to be passed out when students pick up their uniform on Friday)

This Friday evening's football game is also our annual Middle School Night. The SOTW will be joined by students from Audubon Park K-8, Glenridge Middle, Howard Middle, and Maitland Middle School in the stands at the football game. This is a very special evening for the Band program, and is an invaluable opportunity for our students to welcome in future members of the high school program, answer questions the future students (and parents) have, have a fun time, and demonstrate how this truly is a grade 6-12 Band program! Parents - if you are available to chaperone we will need your help. The Band basically doubles in size at this game!

The schedule for this coming Saturday's All-State Auditions has still not been posted. For those auditioning for All-State this year, I will be sending out the schedule as soon as I receive it from our FBA district leadership. Thank you for your patience.

Please turn your attention to information concerning this year's version of the coupon book fundraiser later in the newsletter. We are trying something new this year, and we need everyone to participate!

Have a great week!

Mr. Clemente

BAND BOOSTER PRESIDENT MESSAGE

More volunteers are needed for all football games (this Friday, 9/13, Middle School night included). There are only 10 games each year, so please consider helping with at least 1, if not more!

Please turn in ads/sponsorships ASAP. The new deadline is Wednesday, 9/11. This year, our numbers of ads/sponsorships are so much lower than in past years, and this is a significant fundraiser for the band and also helps to cover the costs of the program such as new music, staff, master classes, guest conductors, student meals, instrument purchase/repair, etc. If each student commits to one ad or sponsorship, this will help so much, and 60% of each ad or sponsorship goes BACK INTO the student account.

Thank you everyone. See you Friday at the game!
