SHOUT OUTS!
Important Information
Mid-Term Reports went out on September 10th. If students have not brought them back with a parent signature, reach out to the parent and make sure they are informed.
If students ask for a mask, give them one. If you do not have one, we have plenty in the front office.
Pumpkin sales begin on Monday. Cost: $4.50
School Health Screenings will be on 9/15 & 9/16
House points: I encourage you to begin awarding points to students exhibiting positive behavior. Students need to see our House System in action. Ms. Andrews sent out an updated point system through email for your reference.
Positive Referrals are available when you want to recognize a student for a variety of excellent character traits. When Mr. Johnson and I receive positive referrals, we call home and brag on the student. This is an amazing experience to see the student's face light up and shine with confidence and pride.

Be sure to include review of the Student Compact on your conference forms. Best practice is to review the compact with the student and family member at the same time. If this is not possible, go over the compact in class with your students, then review with parents at in-person or virtual conferences. Be sure to get signatures and dates for documentation and record your conference in your calendar and on your conference log.

Teacher Evaluation Tool
quote for the week
Ask yourself:
- Do you often say things in a heat of anger?
- What can you do and teach students to do to overcome the detrimental effects of powerful words spoken in anger?
- Do you forgive people when they apologize for saying the wrong thing?
Lesson Links
- Ask students if they forgive their friends or families when things are said in anger but not meant?
- Have students describe the best things people can do to ask for and receive forgiveness.
- Ask students how they feel when they are reading a book and the main character uses words to help others. Ask them what this means about the power of words and the effects they have on how people feel about you.
