November 11, 2021

Dear Erickson Families,

Thank you to the Veterans in our Bloomingdale Community! Erickson classrooms adopted 35 Veterans that we showered with cards, poems and artwork to show our appreciation. We truly appreciate you and thank you for your service to our country.

SPIRIT DAY is tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 12. Wear blue and gold!

The PTO FUN RUN for Wounded Warriors is tomorrow, Friday, November 12th, rain or shine, from 3:30-4:15. Students will go to the gym afterschool to check-in and then head outside. Parents should meet students outside in the parent parking lot. There will be a check-in table outside.

The end of the First Trimester is November 19. Report cards will go home on December 10th. Make sure to sign up for a parent teacher conference.

Pizza Hot Lunch is currently on Fridays. The PTO is looking to ADD a day of hot lunch on Wednesdays starting in January BUT will need volunteers to help! If you are available to volunteer to help at hot lunch on Wednesdays from 11:30-1:00, please reach out to Adding a day only works if we have volunteers (6-8 volunteers). The next Hot Lunch Sign-Up will be posted in the Express from Dec. 2-17.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, comments, or feedback. The best way to reach me would be via email or phone: or 630-529-2223.

Covid Update

Remote Learning Support: Should your child be COVID-19 positive or be a close contact to another person who has been identified as COVID-19 positive we would initiate remote learning services (2.5 hours for 1st-5th and 1.25 hours for Kindergarten) during the duration of the absence. The focus will be ELA and Math.

Siblings do not need to quarantine if a family member has symptoms: Siblings are now allowed to stay in school if family members have symptoms related to Covid, as long as the symptomatic individual is tested within 24 hours of onset of symptoms.

Covid Dashboard: Erickson will stop sending home the notification of COVID-19 positive cases as they arise. In many cases, this creates unnecessary anxiety for others. A dashboard has been placed on the Return to Learn website to document cases throughout the year and will be updated regularly to provide the most accurate information for the greater community. Click here to access the Covid Dashboard.
