CSE Mini Spartan Weekly 3.2 .18
Your Once-a-Week Update from Cold Spring Elementary
From the Principal's Desk
What a pleasure it is to be principal at such a great school in an exceptional community! I am so proud of the work that these students have accomplished in the last few weeks. We raised almost $1800 dollars for the NPK Hero Foundation for families with pediatric cancer. We brought bags of supplies to the Local Food Shelf, organized by the CSE Kindness Club, and wrote Valentine's Cards to Veterans. This is a school community that believes in making a difference, and I am thrilled to be a part of it.
Empathy, Kindness and Caring all takes another "C"... Courage. It takes courage to stand up, it takes courage to lead, it takes courage to be the "ONE" to make a difference. Although we have solid academic programming, we also take pride in teaching "Academic, Social and Emotional Excellence" We know that our students are not perfect, we know that they will make mistakes. However, we also know that we are in this together as parents and school to change the direction of our children's lives forever!
Only when we stand together do we prevent tragedy and disparity. I ask for our students' future, we stand together!
Have a great week and stay #CSESTRONG!

CSE Walk-A-Thon Sponsorship Request
Request for a Donation
We are writing to you on behalf of Cold Spring Elementary (CSE). The CSE Host Parents are currently planning a Walk-a-thon Fundraising Event. The event will take place rain or shine on May 17, 2018! The Walk-a-thon will be held during the school day for students and the fun will continue at CSE that evening for students, families and sponsors from 5:00 – 7:30pm.
Entertainment will be provided!
The 2017 Walk-a-thon raised $13,000!!! This money was used as follows:
School Assemblies, Books and Community Building Events for CSE Families
CSE parents have overwhelmingly voted to move away from having students sell magazines, wrapping paper and food items in favor of the Walk-a-thon. The goal is to have a “one and done” fundraiser! Money raised through the 2018 Walk-a-thon, will be used to support student field trips, continue to update the library with current literature and enhance the student experience at CSE through lyceums and other school wide programs and events!
We are seeking support from local businesses in the form of a suitable prize to reward students for participating in the walk-a-thon or a cash donation. Cash donations from businesses will be used to support expenses related to the event and to purchase additional prizes. All students that bring in a donation of any amount will be entered into the prize drawing. Our goal is for 100% of the funds raised by the students to go to purchases that directly impact the students! If the cash donations exceed the expenses, the remainder will be added to the students fundraising efforts!
We would greatly appreciate any donation you can make! Should you make a donation, your business will be recognized in the following manner:
- · Gold Level Sponsors: Donations of $250.00 or greater will have their company name AND logo on a banner that will be displayed at the event and throughout CSE during the following school year, as well as recognition on social media and in the Cold Spring Record
- · Silver Level Sponsors: Donations of $100.00 - $249.00 will have their company name on a banner that will be displayed at the event and throughout CSE during the following school year, as well as recognition on social media and in the Cold Spring Record
- · Bronze Level Sponsors: Donations of $99 or less will receive recognition on social media and in the Cold Spring Record
If you are able to help, please send your donation directly to Cold Spring Elementary at 601 Red River Ave North Cold Spring, MN 56320 no later than April 15, 2018. If you would prefer to have a CSE Host Parent pick up your donation, please reply to this email letting us know and we would be happy to send someone to your business. Please do not hesitate to contact us at csehostparent@rocori.k12.mn.us if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
CSE Host Parents
