The donation items that are most needed are; bath towels, new/used pet toys, laundry soap, hard bones (nyla or marrow), food and paper towels. Wellness Committee Newsletter
Imagine time in your day to choose a quiet activity without anyone needing you. There would be no interruptions, no expected outcome, and no imposed rules. You could determine what you needed and for how long. Sounds wonderful, and hard to come by, right? It is rare that adults make time to relax. Demands on your time, whether self-imposed or not, prevent people from reading a book for pleasure, going for a leisurely walk, gardening, or taking time for another interest. This common picture of family life has inspired many books and research about the detriments of no quiet, relaxing, unstructured time on both adults and children alike.
This month the Wellness Committee is encouraging you to provide time for yourself and your children to unwind, screenless. Minds need to wander, invent, imagine, and ponder at their own pace. Providing quiet time for your child will enable them to develop these necessary life skills.
