February Storyline - Amazing Love (Jesus' Death and Resurrection)

As we continue our "Living Between the Trees" storyline this year, we are focusing on redemption during the month of February. We are reminded that through Jesus' death and resurrection God fulfills his promise to save his people. Once again we thank our great 7/8 drama team for their dramatic reading of selections from Matthew 27 and 28. As a response to Jesus' amazing love for us, we are also participating as a school in a couple projects where we can live out that love to those around us. The first project was introduced by Mrs. Van Soelen during our Storyline chapel and coincided with Literacy Week. We are collecting gently used books to be donated to several area businesses and ministries. The video below is the song for this month that all the students will be learning. The second project will take place during Connection Groups.

February Connection Groups

In the February Connection groups students will be watching the video below, and then making snack bags and decorating Valentines cards for the students who attend the Catholic Church education programs that are held at our school on Wednesday evenings. The church rents the classroom space from SCCS. We are grateful that SCCS can be a place for these students to gather and learn about Jesus, and we want them to know we are glad they are here!

Faith 5

At-home Faith Formation Tip: Faith5 is a simple five-step faith formation practice that your family or household can do together. First, share your highs and lows of the day. Then read a Bible verse or story together. Talk about how the Bible reading might relate to your highs and lows, pray for one another's highs and lows, and bless one another. Faith5 is great for people of all ages! Check out Faith5.org for more information.

Thanks for filling out the survey!

We got an excellent response to the Family Faith Formation Practices survey. Thanks to those of you who took the time to help out. The information will help us get a snapshot of the blessings and challenges that are taking place in the homes of our Christian School families. We will be sharing this information with local pastors and together brainstorming ways we can partner together to support families in this important task.
