Bloomingdale Schools

Update - April 22, 2021

Hello, Bloomingdale!

I hope that everyone is doing well and enjoying the warmer weather! This newsletter has multi-purposes: the first is to introduce myself and share my excitement to serve the Bloomingdale community. The second is to confirm that our Phase III re-entry plan is moving full steam ahead with our combined cohorts starting on Monday, April 26th.

Please take some time to review both videos below. Your child's building principal(s) will be following up with additional information specific to each school building.

On behalf of the entire Bloomingdale Educational Community, we are looking forward to have students back in person on Monday!

Be Well & Stay Safe,

Dr. Nicosia

General Information

  • Students should arrive prepared with a fully charged Chromebook and other school supplies specified by their teachers.

  • As has been the practice, parents must complete a Daily COVID form in Realtime by 7:30am - prior to sending their child(ren) to school. If this form is not completed, you will receive a call from the School Nurse. Your cooperation is important and is for the health and safety of all students and staff.

  • The arrival times, class schedules and departure times will all remain the same as they have been. We will be staggering the entry into the building by grade level in order to reduce the number of students in the hallways. At the bottom of this correspondence is a copy of the daily schedule for your review as well as reminders for arrival and departure protocols.

  • At 12:57 pm students will be dismissed to meet their respective bus and/or to walk home. Students are asked to exit the building in an orderly manner, maintaining social distance guidelines at all times.

Arrival & Dismissal

  • Arrival times for non-bus students will be between 8:25am and 8:30am.
  • Buses will arrive between 8:20am and 8:25am and drop students off in front of the building. Any transportation issues should be communicated to Donna Costa, WTB Main Office Secretary.

  • Administration and all non-homeroom teachers and staff will assist with moving students to the classrooms.

  • All students must report directly to their homerooms upon arrival - common areas will not be open (lockers, cafeteria, media center, gymnasium)
