Jackie has gone out of her way to help other staff members with technology questions that have benefited other staff members and students. She sets a great example for her students and always displays a calm and welcoming demeanor. Thanks for the job you do Jackie!

Don't forget to nominate a colleague who you catch "Getting a GRIP"! Nomination slips are here in the office.

NEW Pencil, Pen, Paper Vending Machine

As you know, we have added a pencil, pen, and paper vending machine across from the art room. I know some of you have reservations and I am also aware that we will experience some growing pains with adding something new, but I also ask that you be open-minded as we provide something new and fun to our students! The profit from this machine will fund PD, support our students, and fund teacher grants.

Part of the process will be establishing our expectations for using the machine. Below are some things the Office will manage and then other items that classroom teachers can decide. Please review these items with your students.

As a School (Office) we will...

  • Have Jen monitor the machine before school during the arrival process
  • NOT provide change for students...advise students the machine ONLY takes quarters
  • Handle service concerns (Stuck products, Damaged products, etc.)
  • Recycle the tubes the products come in (will be located right next to the machine)

As a classroom teacher you may...

  • Allow students to visit the machine at your discretion
  • Allow or Not allow the use of these products in your classroom

HRE's Spring Community Service Project

This spring we are going to team up with SCI student Olivia Keith and collect belts for IPS students. We will be sending home information with students next week and our collection will run through Thursday, April 2nd. I will share more information next week on the details of collecting the belts from you once students turn them in. Please encourage participation as we help out IPS students in need.

You can visit dontwaistyourbelt.org if you would like to find out more information on this cause.

Kona Ice on April 2nd

Kona Ice will be with us on Thursday, April 2nd. We will hopefully get to be outside for this event. I will be sending out a schedule to you some time during the week. Kona Ice is giving back 35% of the profits and that money will be designated for staff PD next school year. More info will come out to students next week as well.

Attention Hourly Employees

We have a scheduled meeting with Cecile Nunn from Admin on Thursday, March 26th at 8:00 in room one. The purpose of our meeting will be to discuss some procedural changes being made in the payroll department and we want to keep you in the loop...so don't stress anything!
