St. Columba's Primary School
NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 10 | 23 SEPTEMBER 2021
We thank you Lord, for this term.
For the challenges, the successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt.
Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends.
Give us strength and courage to do what is right; to be witnesses of our faith.
Help us to be a practical Christian these holidays, to appreciate what others do for us, to give time and effort to help others, to be peacemakers in our family.
Keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun.
Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.
We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents and a community that cares for us.
May we always be conscious of you in our lives.
Amen
From the Principal
Dear St Columba’s school community,
We have made it to the last week of Term 3 … who says Term 3 is the quiet term! It was wonderful to see two large school events supported so well by our school community last week.
Firstly, the Open Night and Art Exhibition were a great success and the school looked amazing! Words cannot describe how incredibly proud and thankful I was of our wonderful staff and students as we showcased the school on Thursday night, the standard was magnificent. Each and every classroom was inviting and the atmosphere around the school was that of excitement! Thank you to Mrs Melissa Govorko and Mrs Danielle Barth for setting up and presenting a wonderful Art Exhibition. A big thank you to Brooke, Lara and Tracie from our P&F for organising the food vans for the night.
To back up the Open Night and Art Exhibition with an Athletics Carnival is crazy! However, yet again our dedicated staff, led by Mr Leigh Chatt, did an outstanding job at making this event a success. Well done to all our students for their athletic ability and sportsmanship. Thank you must go to our parent helpers on the day, with special acknowledgement to Mrs Edmondson as she bids farewell to St Columba’s at the end of the year after spending ten years assisting at the various carnivals. Good luck to those students from Year 3 to 6 who will go on to represent St Columba’s at the CAPSS Interschool Carnival in Term 4.
As the term comes to an end, I would like to inform the school community that our brilliant Mrs Jenaway will be retiring at the end of the year and enjoying some quality time with her family. While she will be sadly missed, I personally would like to thank her for everything she has done for St Columba’s over a number of years. As a school community we will farewell Mrs Jenaway at the end of Term 4.
To finish off a fantastic term, I would like to wish everyone a happy and relaxing holiday. For those that may be travelling around our beautiful state, please stay safe. I look forward to seeing everyone return for our final term of 2021.
God Bless

Hi Everyone,
Well another term has flown by. I would like to thank everyone that has helped out with all the events this term eg Retro Bingo, Fathers Day Breakfast, Tommy Sugo, Cards that Count, Tea Towels and I'm sure there's more!
Support has been wonderful with the ordering of "Cards That Count" and "The Tea Towel Fundraiser". Thank You! When I have the total amount raised I will put it in the newsletter next term.
Year 1W will be enjoying their Tommy Sugo Class Party for lunch today. Many thanks for all their orders.
The South Perth Council have kindly donated two bins for us to use as "Cash for Containers", which might make it easier for events especially with the Fair coming up. I'd like to thank Tracie for achieving this.
We have Grandparents Day coming up on Friday, 29th October We look forward to seeing many lovely faces. The Pre Primary classes will be putting on a morning Devonshire Tea for the Grandparents in the undercover area ☕.
I would also like to say how wonderful it's been this year having a great attendance at the P&F Meetings. More minds and ideas 💡 are always good. Everyone is always welcome to attend the meetings, you don't have to be a class rep to attend, it's a great way to hear what's happening and the ideas for helping the children and school community.
Wishing everyone a safe and relaxing holiday ready for our very very busy Term 4. Get those plants potted and clean out those toys and books 📚 ready to bring into school for the Fair.
Cheers
